Elyon looked at Cedric. Had she?
Cedric was right though... Her parents were very distant. In fact, all of her family was very distant. Roger... Claudia. Great aunt Millicent... Only names, but no faces to go with them... But that's because none of those people were family...
"Really?" she asked Cedric. But before he could answer, she found it herself already. "I really have, haven't I?"
She took his hand and wrapped it around her own. Cedric's hands were so warm compared to hers. "Show me!"she said. "Take me to my house! I want to see them... My drawings..."

The funeral was over. Peter was a bit disappointed that Matt didn't show up.
'Maybe he had a job to do. I better call him... Oh, great I forgot my cell phone at home!'
*Peter joins his parents before they leave.*

Cedric's warmth was able to convince Elyon. He had finally done it, or at least he was very close. He almost convinced Elyon to go to Meridian. Now all he had to do was show her her drawings and cook up some more lies.
"Yes, yes, of course I will!!" Cedric said, smiling. "Just follow my lead and you'll be ok." Was that a promise? It was certainly one he could never keep.
He almost felt like running now. He was so close to Meridian, he could almost hear it's busy but not terribly noisy streets. All he had to do now was lie, just lie. One simple task. But was that task going to be more challenging than Cedric thought? Lying wasn't easy when people wanted details and truths. And that's exactly what Elyon demanded.
I'm not good at this anymore...

Following Cedric's lead - and not letting go of his warm hand along the way - she later found herself back at what used to be her house...
