*Taranee glanced over at Hay Lin who huged both her parents.*
What's going to happen to us now?

*Will sighed again and looked around. Something was bugging her*
"Hey, anybody wonder where Elyon is?" Will asked. "Why wouldn't she be here?"
Unless I was right and Elyon really is in Meridian...

*Taranee knew that will was right. But she didn't know what to say. For some reason the whole Elyon thing just didn't seem important anymore. Instead she looked over at Mr. and Mrs. Lin. They were now talking to other relitives and friends who had walked over to offer their sympathy and words of encouragment. Amoung them were Taranee's parents. She watched her father shake hands with Mr. Lin and her mother nodd solomly. Hay Lin now stood alone looking off into the distance.*

*Will's confusion raced through her mind, but it stopped as she watched Hay Lin seperate from her parents and walk back toward her friends. All of a sudden, the heartache of losing Yan Lin rushed back into her body as she watched Hay Lin come tward them with a tear strained face*

[Enter: Elyon from Cornelia's appartment corridors]
Sadness had covered Heatherfield like a suffocating blanket the entire morning already, and it was thickest here. With each step Elyon took, she became more and more hesitant about talking to Cornelia directly. She was getting sick of the mixed signals and thoughts that spooked her mind.
Not for a single moment did she wonder why Cornelia would be here in the first place. Something she would hate herself for any other day.
She stepped through the gate and looked around for the Hales, eventually continuing to slowly walk by the graves when she saw no one...
At some point, she passed a large, thick and even kinda spooky old tree when she saw dozens of people standing like flocks of white sheep. Immediatly, she shot back behind the tree. White! They were all dressed in white!! Why!?
Her heart raced. She felt that she was close to the one she had been seeking. But now that it was just a matter of time before she would find her, she wasn't so sure if she actually wanted to anymore...
Voices... From behind the tree, she heard only voices... Why didn't she want anyone to see her? She didn't know. She didn't know anything anymore... Elyon only listened to the voices and waited until she heard at least one familiar one...

[Enter: Cedric from Cornelia's apartments corridors] Cedric was able to follow Elyon inconspicuously. He sneaked behind one tree to another, until he saw Elyon, then he stopped. His heart was racing like an animal trying to escape it's predator. He couldn't risk Elyon seeing him. What would she say about him then? Or worse...would she ever trust him again?

It was lucky that no one spotted Elyon yet. He crossed his fingers, hoping none of the guests or the guardians saw her.

*Cornelia took a deep breath and wiped away her tears as she saw Hay Lin walk slowly towards the group. She knew she had to try and stay strong for her friend, but the harder she tried, the more quickly tears came.*

Hay Lin, her eyes still running with tears, started over to her friends. Her pace was slow, as if she was carrying a heavy weight with every step. Seeing her grandmother's casket buried had been hard for her. The awful finality, that her grandmother could never and would never come back. As Will reached her, she returned the hug gratefully. The support of her friends, at the funeral and in general, though they could never replace Yan Lin, still meant a lot to her.
"Th-thanks...all of you. For coming," she said, looking around at them. As she looked at the faces of her friends, she noticed another face...a little further back. A familiar face, partially concealed behind an old tree a little ways off. Taking a step towards the tree, she looked more closely. "Elyon?"

Elyon?
Elyon had closed her eyes and only listened to the sounds. She heard Hay Lin speak her name...
But why? Why did she hear it so clearly? So loud? It was as if Hay Lin stood right next to her. But that was not all... The footsteps taken by Cornelia grew significantly louder for her. The sound of the wind shaking leaves around magnified. It was as if she was standing right among Hay Lin and the others with her ears pressed onto their lips.
Elyon opened her eyes and felt how her eyes shrank. How her heart started to beat faster and how her breathing intensified. Fright! She felt fright! Hay Lin had seen her, and realisation struck her that she didn't want her to...
And then Elyon noticed how her wish was magically granted. Her feet disappeared, and her legs vanished too. She felt how light plainly passed through her, rather than bouncing off her skin. But she didn't disappear at all... She was still there. She was still leaning against the tree. The wind was still tugging her braids and playing with her skirt. The ground moved away from under her foot as she took a step to the side. She was there, yet nobody could see her...
What is this magic!?

Cedric saw Elyon completely dissappear within two seconds. She's frightened to death, Cedric thought, a little bit worried. Hopefully, with his magic, he could sense her so he won't lose her. He tried it. It was weird. He couldn't see her and yet he felt her presence...as she right in front of him...holding his hand and smiling. Cedric opened his eyes after he realized he closed them. He came back to reality. He was dreaming. Dreaming about Elyon.

*Will snapped her head in the direction in which Hay Lin was pointing*
"What? Elyon's over there? Are you sure?" Will asked as she moved around to look. "Why wouldn't she come out to the funeral?" Will asked in confusion.
Something is very weird...if Elyon is there, then why isn't she out here with us? Why would she be hiding by a tree?
"Come on, let's go check it out." Will declared as she started walking toward the tree.

*Taranee looked in the direction and started to walk to wher Hay Lin had seen Elyon. Taranee didn't see Elyon but she had a stange feeling that she had really been there. She also felt like they were being watched. Still being watched. But she brushed it off as her typical paranoia.*
No, I'm just imagining things.
*She glanced back over at the adults. They still seemed to be talking amounst themselves. They wouldn't notice if the girls stepped away for a few minutes. So Taranee followed Will.*

"I'm sure I saw her, she was standing right by that tree," Hay Lin said. Her tears had stopped in the face of this puzzling discovery, and she followed Will quickly. How had Elyon managed to just vanish like that? Hay Lin knew she had been there, she had felt it as well as seen it. But something here just didn't make sense...
