Vathek: "Of course not! Only a fool would pass up a chance to dance with the Light of Meridian." *stands up* "Shall I return to my human appearance?"After having calmed down from the shock completely, Elyon finally recognized the big Galhot for the high-ranking officer she saw earlier... "No, there's no need... Uhm... Vortock, right?" she asked. Since Phobos had mentioned this man's name only once, Elyon couldn't quite remember it correctly...

Vathek: "Um... Vathek, will do." *signals the band to resume playing* "Is there a particular Meridian dance you had in mind?"

"Vathek! Right!" Elyon said to herself. "Any dance will do, sir Vathek. Although I do not know many Meridian dances, so I'd preffer an easy one..."

Vathek: "Then how about the waltz?" *stands up as he gently places a hand on her hips & takes her hand with his other hand* "It's the only Earth dance I can remember from that party on Halloweeds."

*Taranee looked around. It was going to be difficult to keep and eye on Elyon is this large crowd of people. For now she was dancing with some soldier, and seemed fine. There was no sign of Phobos, so far*
Do you think we should break up into gropus to keep an eye out for elyon, so we aren't as obvious?

hmm, that's a good idea. I wonder why Phobos isn't here though?

I have no idea. He must be planning something big.

In that case, you lead." While Elyon and Vathek finally started the dance, Elyon noticed something... Vathek... Haloween party... There was no sign of her train of thought on Elyon's face, and with the dance in full motion, it was unlikely Vathek would notice that she had again caught onto something... I'll have to ask Cedric about it later...

Vathek: "As you wish..."
He remains silent throughout the dance.

Hay Lin glanced nervously around at the rest of the dance. Where was Phobos? Will's mentioning that he wasn't there had made her feel nervous. After what she'd overheard, she knew that he was planning on setting a trap for the rebels. But she waited to see what Will would decide - she was supposed to be the leader, after all. And Hay Lin didn't have any bright ideas, other than the fact that her yellow dress was itchy.

hmm, that's a good idea. I wonder why Phobos isn't here though? Cedric figured he'd look strange standing around with no one to dance with. After all, not only was he a high officer, but he was much too attractive to be in such a situation... "May I ask you for a dance m'lady?" Cedric knew perfectly well the red-haired servant he was asking was the Keeper of the Heart. But in order to not blow their cover, he decided to play dumb.

[Miranda: Enter from Tailor Jink's Room] The soldier at the door greets her as she enters. Soldier B: "Why Miranda, you sure look nice today. May I interest you in a dance?" Miranda: "Humph!" *turns her back to him* "Put a dagger in it." She walks away from him. Soldier B doesn't seem to be hurt by the rejection at all, just being able to see her bare back as she walks away is more than enough to put him in a good mood. Miranda: There's only one man in this room that is handsome enough to deserve the privilege of dancing with me, & a certain princess probably has her hands all over him. *sees Elyon dancing with Vathek* Wait! T-that's not Cedric! ... But that would mean... *her heart skips a beat as she searches the room for the blond-haired knight* There he his!She heads in Lord Cedric's direction. Since his back is turned away from her, he does not see her approach. She watches as he looks at a red-haired servant nearby. Lord Cedric: "May I ask you for a dance, m'lady?"Miranda: *stops moving* D-did he...? Did he just ask that peasant girl for a dance? *looks to the floor* How could he degrade himself so...(Miranda's Black Dress)

Before waiting for his reply, he turned slightly to sneak a peek at Elyon and the soldier. He knew he shouldn't, but he couldn't help himself. In all honestly, he really was jealous.
Then he saw Miranda in her classy black dress. Suddenly she was no longer some hideous common spider, but a beautiful, poisonous black widow...
"Miranda!" He jumped as he said this, startled by the sudden appearance. He'd forgotten Will completely.

Startled from her thoughts, she looks up with a jerk. She quickly glances around her in a 180* as she speaks.
Miranda: "Who? What? Where?" *only then does she recognize the knight's voice & looks to see him staring right at her* "Oh...?" *her cheeks go slightly crimson* "Hi."
Rarely does the black widow find herself in such situations. Had it been anyone else, she would have immediately sent the unlucky servant to the dungeons for making her look like a fool. But Lord Cedric... Her heart begins to beat rapidly. Unsure of what else to say or what to do, she innocently wraps her hands behind her back & sweetly smiles in his direction.

*Will kept her eyes wide as she struggled with the many things that had just happened at once. She was torn by complete surprise and curiosity on what in the world Cedric wanted and gratitude for the distraction. Will tried to slip away silently with her friends*
