While using the buildings for cover to avoid the fiery assault, the archers continue to rain arrows upon them. Aldar doesn't seem to have much luck with Caleb's wound.

*Will suddenly had a knot of fear tighten in her throat. They didn't have enough energy to keep fighting today. Why was everything coming after them? Didn't they get to call a time out?*
"Fine!" Will seethed. "I guess everybody's intent on killing us even when all your prince can preach is that today was supposed to be a day of peace" Will snapped.
It's not like I believed him either way, but at least now I can shove all their slimy faces into it

*Cornelia too continued to fight back against the attackers, trying not to focus on Caleb and his wound but instead on the enemy. She threw rock after rock at the attackers but could feel herself growing weary.*
"We'll be fine Will. We can take them." Cornelia shouted, knowing it was a lie. Eventually they would run out of energy and wouldn't be able to fight. Who knows what would happen when that time came. . .

Hiding in a nearby alley, out of sight. Kushiel & Sniffer wait for the Keeper to tire & drop her shield. _________ The rain of arrows continues.

*Will clenched her teeth as she strained to hold onto the wavering shield*
Oh no! We've been fighting and running around all day and then I gave all that energy to Irma...
"Guys, I can't- Somebody block-"
*Will felt dizzy. Was it the portal? The Meridian monsters or her fatigue? All three? The energy shield quickly pulled back into Will as she shuddered on her shaky legs and fell to the ground, untransforming and breathing heavily with her hands and knees on the ground*

"Will!" Cornelia cried out as she rushed back to her friend.
*The attackers continued to send out showers of arrows onto Will, Taranee, and Cornelia.*
"What are we going to do Will? We can't fight anymore. We're too weak..." Cornelia whisper-shouted to her friend as she held up a layer of rock in the air to protect them from the arrows.

*Taranee ducked behind the wall of stone created by Cornelia*
"I hate to admit it but I think our only option is to retreat."

*Will slowly looked up and nodded*
Get those rebels down from the net

"Yah we need to get out of here," Cornelia agreed, "but those monsters are blocking the portal."

Suddenly, the arrows stop. The annihilator zaps the earthen wall to pieces.
Kami: "Sick 'em."
Sniffer growls with a fury as he lunges at Cornelia.

*Will's eyes widened in shock as the skeleton dog jumped into the air after Cornelia*
No!
*Will knew that it might be suicide on her part, but she had just enough energy to attempt to make it out of here alive. She shot an energy beam at the dog which howled and tumbled backward*
Don't worry about that! Just get the rebels!

The poor dog whimpers as it limps into a nearby building.
Kami: "Worthless mutt... Plan B commence!"
Soldiers on top of the buildings begin to pour large jars of boiling-hot oil upon the guardians.

Aldar finishes putting bandages on Caleb's wound, then looks around at all that is happening.

The first thing Hay Lin saw when she emerged from the portal was a dark figure - no, a lot of them. She stumbled forward, feeling panicked. The portal was surrounded, she realized. This was another trap. But she wasn't the one that had been trapped, she was on the other side of it...The others were in trouble! And if it wasn't for Irma, she wouldn't have come to help at all. She silently thanked the water guardian for giving her the push to check the situation on Meridian, another chance for her to do better as a guardian. The advancing portal guards and boiling oil starting from the rooftops gave her a fresh spurt of panic-fueled adrenaline. She would be exhausted later, but right now her system had been thrown into a frenzy. With no consideration for direction or strength she ripped nearby winds from their paths and hurled them at the soldiers around the portal to blow them back out of her way. She couldn't stop the oil but it might distract the attackers so the others could get back to the portal. Her wings fluttered behind her as she ran, ascending into the air without missing a step. "Hey guys," she said, slightly out of breath but very determined. Will looked totally drained, probably a result of giving Irma energy earlier and fighting again. She was even untransformed! Having seen Irma re-humanize when she was ready to keel over, she could figure out that it was a bad sign. "I'm thinking an about face might be the best option here."
