*Will nodded*
Can you get the rebels away and over here?

Finally free, Drake falls to the ground. _________ The elite soldiers get blown into walls by a gust of wind. Although the wind isn't strong enough to stop the oil, it does manage to slow its fall somewhat but the energy to keep the wind blowing up against the oil must be exhausting. The annihilator looks at the one trying to foil his plans. Kami: "There'll be no about face for you tonight."He shoots a devastating laser beam from his eyes toward Hay Lin. Too busy attempting to keep the oil from roasting her friends, the air guardian is unable to react. Drake: "No!" He jumps in front of the blast & gets thrown to the ground near Hay Lin. The armor on his back has two holes where the laser hit him. His blackened rips are clearly visible.

A cackling gust of sand blew through the area. Sandpit emerged with a grimace on his face striking a pose.
"Hoo ha I'm back ladies and boy am I muffed," said the living sand pile as his arms solidified into hammers.

Hay Lin, who had apparently decided to stop the oil despite having realized earlier that wind attacks wouldn't be the most effective way to counter it, was unable to do a thing while a rebel took the blow for her. All she could do was focus on trying to get them out of there. "Oh yeah? Well-" The arrival of sandpit, apparently defrosted and hungry for something in the area of revenge, made her frantic heart beat faster. It wasn't the adrenaline of adventure now, it was panic. The fight or flight reaction was sending blood from her extremities to her legs, and she felt a chill spread through her hands. "Is there anywhere we can run?" she squeaked, looking helplessly at her friends before she turned to face the sand monster. Cornelia and Taranee both looked as tired as she felt under the blood pounding in her ears, but they were still transformed and standing. She wasn't alone. "I thought we saw the last of him when Irma and I made a popsicle earlier," she said, glaring over at the monster. the sand creature had been the one to trash her room, the one that had smashed the picture. But without Irma, she couldn't exactly repeat the flash freeze that had worked last time. They just needed a way out, a direction to run so they could get the heck away from the planet of evil.

"But we can't just run without the rebels!" Will exclaimed. Will looked around. If they could at least get the rebels away from the enemy then they may have a chance

Aldar: "Screw the rebels!" *tosses Caleb over his shoulder* "They're all stuffed-up with arrows as if they were pin cushions, & Drake doesn't seem much better." *walks toward the portal* "I'm leaving!" _________ Kami, not wanting to waste his energy on the rebel, does hand-signals to the archers above. They load their arrows & aim at the green-skinned coward.

"Hey! Watch it!" Will yelled as she threw herself forward and was barely able to extract a shield before the arrows hit. It quickly vanished from her hands and Will wiped the sweat from her forehead.
"If you're going to abandon everybody, then hurry up and stop talking in the middle of a battle like an idiot who needs someone to save him!"
Somebody help them please!

Maybe, if we combine our powers we might be able to summon enough power to defeat these guys. . . .
*Cornelia looked around, scanning the situation. There was no where to run. They each had little energy left and were tired. There was no way they could get the rebels out of there without any energy. Combining their powers seemed like the only option.*

Aldar: "Whatever you say, self-proclaimed leader of the rebels." He exits through the portal with Caleb. [Aldar & Caleb: Exit to By the Sea] Kami: He & Sniffer go to block the portal before anyone else decides to escape via that route. (Since Sandpit hasn't moved, I assume he's still blocking the other portal.)

*Will looked at Cornelia and nodded*
I don't know how much more I can do since I'm not in Guardian form and my energy's pretty zapped, but we can probably do it. But let's hurry

*Cornelia nodded in agreement.*
I think we are all pretty weak, but this is the best shot we have... I don't know what else we can do if this doesn't work.
"Quick!" Cornelia shouted as she and the rest of the guardians gathered in a circle.
*Cornelia closed her eyes and focused all of her remaining energy into the center of the group. She saw a faint green glow through her eyelids as the energy came off of her and combined with the others in the middle of the circle. The small orb swirled around with the colors of each of the guardians element: pink, orange, green, and light blue. Slowly the glowing orb of energy began to grow bigger.*
*Sweat dripped off Cornelia's forehead and she could feel herself growing weaker and weaker. She opened her eyes and saw the same exhausted expression on each of the guardians faces. But they all kept on exerting all of their remaining energy into the massive ball that now surrounded them, blocking them from any arrows that were flying in the air. All of a sudden the energy stopped flowing and the orb broke away from the guardians, no longer surrounding them with a protective shield. The high energy created by the combination of the four guardians powers flew into the enemy, knocking any opposing threat to the ground.*
"Yes..." Cornelia whispered as she fell down to her knees, weak.

*The rebels looked dazed and Will knew just how they felt. All Will wanted to do was drop where she stood and go to sleep, but she knew that she had to finish things here*
"Try this one on for size," Will said to the soldiers who were rubbing their heads from the blast, well all except for the sand thing.
*Will held out her hand and the Heart of Kandrakar appeared. There was a large zapping and popping sound as Will smiled as she closed both the open portals*
"We'll just make our own exit then."
*The rebels rushed through and the Guardians jumped in quickly, closing the portal from the other side*

Kami: "Noooooo!"
He zaps a laser beam into the portal just as it closes.

[Enter: Caleb from the Main Gate]
Caleb finally stopped running and instead focused on hiding from sight. The soldiers' footsteps dissipated amidst the sounds of the city. They must have fallen behind, with their heavy armor and impressive weaponry. You send a hawk to catch a sparrow, not a bear, but Caleb didn't feel like telling them about their mistake. If they'd have brought a guy like the Tracker to tail him, it'd have been quite a different story.
Caleb climbed to the second floor of a half torn down building and looked around for his pursuers. However, they were nowhere to be seen.
"Too easy." Caleb smiled absent-mindedly.
His thoughts went back to the strange guard who pretty much let him go. Granted, if he tried anything else, Caleb would have killed him, but few other soldiers had enough brainpower to figure that out. If Phobos finds out about this neglection of duty, the guard will be in for quite a painful experience.
Caleb scratched his head. He had a plan brewing in his mind, but for that, he needed to do quite a bit of reconnaissance.
You better get to it then. The rebel leader thought to himself.

After a long while of planning, Caleb sat down in resignation. Nothing good came to mind. He didn't have enough capable men to stage any kind of assault. He couldn't infiltrate the castle to steal supplies, because it would have been impossible to transport them all the way to the forest without getting caught or leading the soldiers to their new base. The only thing he could do was causing some damage within the castle - mostly to just piss Phobos off. It didn't seem like much, but at least it was a start. A while ago, Caleb had this plan to burn down Phobos' library. It was pointless, really. And who knows what Phobos would do with his newfound free time.
"Alright then." Caleb said. "Time to go."
Yeah, but where? Back to the forest perhaps? Yeah, he did leave the rebels with no explanation. These are, after all, his people. He had to take care of them, even if it meant baby-sitting them to no end. Besides, maybe he'll stumble upon Vathek on the way. Caleb felt like he owed the giant an apology. And who knows, maybe Vathek will have a plan of his own.
"Who knows..." Caleb kept repeating these words both in his mind and aloud.
Then, realizing that he had nothing better to do, he jumped out of the window and landed gracefully in the street.
Four off-duty soldiers were there, casually walking down the street.
"Crap." Caleb said, turning away and running before they could react.
"Over there! We got him!" The soldiers screamed to who knows who and chased after him.
[Exit: Caleb to the Forest]
