Himerish was relieved that Elyon went defensive. A single powerful attack would have finished him. He should have estimated that she would panic and miss the opportunity. Elyon wasn't an experienced warrior that could stay focused all the time. But pounding on her magic barrier would be fruitless. No matter how weak it was Elyon would gather enough time to come up with a new strategy. Himerish was going to play for the long run instead of a quick and risky victory.
*Himerish drained the magic energy in the broadsword into his body and loaded it with Qi instead. He jumped into the air using Qi to enhance his leg strenght. And with a downward slash his blade collided with the barrier.*
Flashes of blinding light and sparkles covered both Himerish and Elyon. Qi and magic were two opposite energies, and opposites attract each other. The Qi in the blade drained the magic barrier and pure magic energy was absorbed by Himerish reclaiming all the energy he lost since the beginning of the battle.
*Himerish landed down and jumped backwards leaving a good five meters between them. He then loaded his newly found magic energy into his armor. Himerish took a defensive stance and waited for Elyon to make her next move.*
It was simply impossible to defeat the light of Meridian with a frontal attack. There was a huge gap of energy level between them; Elyon was far superior to him in terms of raw power. Yet there was a way to defeat her. If Himerish could force her to waste her energy he might have a chance of evening the odds. Absorbing wasn't an option as Elyon wouldn't fall for it twice. He would first dodge her attacks and when she is drained of enough power Himerish would end it with one decisive blow.
