It was the smallest chamber in the castle, but the castle was such a gigantic work of art, this room was quite vast. It was about the same size of the guest chamber, plently of people could live here. But only Cedric alone slept in this chamber.
All of the fabric that bound this room match his very robes. The curtains that covered the glass his tall window gripped were a dark shade of green, pitch black and royal red sheets of silk draped around the room. The carpet under his feet was a forest green color. And his bed sheets were the same colors folded in a neat arrangement. Only the wood was not one of the three colors(even the walls matched, and for chandeliers to be green, black, or blue, it just wasn't natural), but as the windows did it simply blended in.
Today had been a hard day, just as was yesterday and Cedric was exhausted. He thrust the soft but heavy sheets off the bed's top comforter and slipped under it. It felt like heaven. He hadn't gotten to sleep in his own bed since Elyon arrived, he'd spent most of his nights either with her or literally sleeping on the castle's cold floor in the throne room. With clouds of cotton, a smiling moon, and much sleep to catch up on, Cedric was no longer awake.

The next morning...
The light of Meridian's sun was so strong it was able to go through the dark green curtains that draped in front of the room's glass windows. It was also strong enough to wake the great Lord Cedric, Prince Phobos' main accomplice.
Cedric slipped out of bed, putting his feet on the floor and changing into yet another set of green, yellow, red, and black robes. Once, not to long before he'd just started the job, this was a real pain. But he'd remembered more each day what went on first and what went on top of that. Finally he slipped into some shoes and opened the curtains. He actually didn't like his room being all that dark.
"Wonder what the Ball Room looks like," he yawned, and closed the door on the way out.

[Enter: Cedric from the Bath Tower]
Cedric let out a small tired sigh and plopped himself on his mansion-sized bed. He looked up at his green ceiling, contradiciting the blue robes he was wearing. For a couple of long minutes his mind was empty, staring at the ceiling and nothing else...
Eventually he started to think about Elyon. He was worried. About everything. Phobos could already tell that he and Elyon were...getting close. That really worried him. What would Phobos do? Would he punish Cedric? Would he punish Elyon even before the coronation? Would he even...
Elyon would never turn her back on me, Cedric thought urgently. Because she knows I'd never do that to her...Elyon's not like Phobos...she's not ignorant, cold hearted...
He decided not to think much of what the future could have in store but instead to think of his recent past with Elyon. When they'd first met at the party...the ackward but admittively good music playing the background...sprightly lights dancing in all directions...the cute, nervous look on Elyon's face...
Soon he was drowning in his own happy little memory world...they were so peaceful that he started to close his eyes...he drifted from Meridian and now he was on Earth, with Elyon...laughing and joking around with her, as if they could be together as a normal couple...Cedric's eyes were now completely shut, and in half a second, he was asleep.

Cedric awoke as if he had never slept at all. His whole ordeal seemed like a bad dream that he was anxious to get out of during his sleepless night of tossing and turning throughout the night.
Why couldn't things be more simpler? He hated the thought of defying his master, and he hated the fact of lying to Elyon. Which side could he possibly choose?
"Arrgh! Nothing is happening the way I want it too! I'm even starting to think like a human now!" Cedric cursed as he sent a vase of flowers crashing to the floor. He didn't even like vases, and he definitely didn't like flowers. It was all made for Elyon...yes, for Elyon...
Cedric sighed. He always dreamed of becoming Phobos' right hand man, his most faithful Murmerer. Was it possible to fufill that dream and not allow Elyon to fall into any harm?
"Mmm, I'll figure out a way, somehow." Cedric muttered before wandering aimlessly about the castle.

[Enter: Cedric from the Castle Ballroom]
It had been such a long night, the bed simply looked like heaven. Putting Miranda, Jarod, and every other disaster aside, he plopped on the bed and drifted into an unconcious bliss...

Golden rays poured into Cedric's room, filling the room with light. It shone through his eyelids and irritated him. Eventually he gave up and awoke, setting his left foot on the ground.
"I should go see what Phobos is up to. Haven't heard from him in a while," Cedric yawned and changed into more professional robes--a classical blue and green combination.
After combing his hair he nearly sleepwalked out the room.

He yawned for what felt like the hundredth time. Not a second or two after he crawled into bed did drift off into a dreamland.

<Subbing for Cedric>
"Come in." Cedric's voice sounded. He probably slept for the entire morning, although he would never allow others to deduct this from his behaviour. "The door is open."

Vathek slowly opened the door and looked at Cedric from head to toe trying to remember what exactly his order had been. At the moment his mind was blank but the more he thought the quicker the order came to him. Though by the time he had thought of the order his body was already inside the door. "Cedric!" He was a bit nervous almost like he was about to forget the message. When a lightbulb came on in his head. "The Dark Prince would like to see you in his throne room!" A sigh eascaped his mouth as he was atleast pleased at remembering the message. If he hadn't right now he might not even be here. He could be locked up in a cell,or something even more worse. Being around light.. gross horrible light that the stupid guardians are filled with in their bodies. Shaking those horrible thoughts from his head he waited for some type of answer. If nothing came out of Cedric's mouth then Vathek would leave.

<subbing for Cedric>
Cedric's face grew grim, as he was putting up the finishing touches of his robe. For today, he had chosen the military one with the chainmail and the elbowguards. "I certainly hope it is for a report, or something concerning the rebels..." he mumbled. Lately, Phobos had become rather impatient with almost everyone around him, to much dismay of many a minion, and Elyon too... Hopefully, he could report some good news soon, so the prince would be put back into a merciful mood...
"Very well, old friend." the head of the military continued. "I shall go see him at once. You are dismissed." With those words, Cedric headed for the throne hall...

[Enter: Cedric, from wherever he's been] Cedric slowly entered his room, looking around with a tired expression. He felt really tired, no - completely drained by all the errands he was forced to run. Pleasing Phobos, pleasing Elyon - it was necessary, yes. But fun? Interesting? No way. The room was dark and cold - just the way Cedric liked it, but he was too afraid to even enjoy it - what if someone will come with more 'important things' to do? "Honestly" Cedric whispered, closing his eyes "You'd think that with the power and influence that I have, I wouldn't need to run around like the lowest of soldiers." Cedric looked at his bed, then shook his head. It wasn't his favorite way to sleep, so he slowly turned into his snake-like form. Then Cedric slithered to a corner and lay down on the ground. For once, it was calm and quiet in the castle and Cedric really wanted to enjoy the moment. "Sure, I have only a couple of minutes... But I'll make it count." "Lord Cedric" a voice from behind the door suddenly interrupted him. " Lord Cedric!" Cedric opened his eyes angrily, fighting with the urge to just go outside and smash the one who interrupted him. But, after a few moments, he calmed down, approached the door and opened it. It was just a soldier. "What do you want?" Cedric asked. "Sir" the soldier replied "We have spotted a small band of rebel-looking people, doing something near the castle." "So?" "So... I thought we should go investigate." "Good thinking," Cedric smiled. "It's so good that you let me know about such things. It really doesn't bother me at all. After all, I am here to take care of everything, am I not?" "Aren't you going to accompany us, sir?" the soldier asked. Cedric closed his eyes. Honestly, is he the only one with brains around here? "I'm sure you still remember how to deal with filthy rebels, don't you." "Well, yes..." the soldier started. "Then do it! And get out of my sight!" Cedric shouted closing the door and turning around. Even if it was just a short interruption, it still swallowed most of Cedric's free time. He was really angry on rebels for that - if it's obvious that they'll lose the war - no, no, not the war - their pathetic rebellion - then why are they still trying, instead of letting him relax once in a while? Because of them, his time was up. "Guess what, Lord Cedric" he told himself. "It's time to go and serve our princess... again." He turned around (again), opened the door (again) and left, hissing all kinds of curses. [Exit: Cedric, to the castle] I guess Cedric has to be arrogant, but I'm not used to it

[Enter: Lord Cedric from Elyon's Chamber]
Cedric walked into his room slowly, with a slight smile on his face. Finally, after all this time, an hour of rest! It was more than enough for him to regain his strength and prepare for many hours of pretending to come. Cedric quickly returned to his original form and slithered to the farthest corner of his chamber. That's the way he liked things - calm and quiet.
Cedric coiled up on the ground and closed his eyes. Time to descend into the dreamworld.

[Enter: Vathek from the Courtyard]
Cedric was passing through a field of wheat with Phobos. He didn't know why. They both were wearing simple clothes and looked just like peasants. Cedric looked at the prince with confusion, but he didn't seem to care. But Cedric cared. He tried to turn back into his snake form, but somehow, he failed. None of his powers seemed to work anymore. Then he tried to stop and talk Phobos out of this, but the prince just glared at him and kept walking. So Cedric had no other choice but to follow. It was hot and everything was sickeningly pretty. The sun was shining, a warm wind was blowing. Somewhere farther away the people were singing. It made Cedric sick. "Quick, get down!" Phobos said, quickly falling to the ground. "Old man's coming!" "What?" Cedric tried to ask, but Phobos pulled him down. "Stay put." The prince whispered and crawled somewhere farther away. Cedric tried to look up and see the the 'old man', but the wheat crops were too tall. This was ridiculous. Since when do they have to avoid 'old men'? Something wasn't right. Then finally, he saw a figure above him - but more to the right. Cedric recognized the person - it was Caleb, the rebel leader. He was looking around suspiciously and obviously trying to find them. Cedric wondered why can't they just stand up and chop his head off. Then Caleb discovered Phobos. He raised his right hand. A sickle shimmered in the sun for a moment. Then the rebel leader struck Phobos with the tool and killed him in an instant. "Nooo!! Prince!!!" Cedric jumped up and rushed towards Caleb, but someone caught him from behind. Cedric looked back to see Vathek, who said...
"Wake up, already!" "Gah!" Cedric jumped up. "Vathek! What the hell?!" "I said wake up." Vathek answered. "No, what are you doing in my room?!" Cedric stood up. "I don't allow visitors, especially when sleeping! Besides, I thought you hate me." "No time for that." Vathek shut him up. "Get up. We've got to go." "Go where?" "To the forest. Come on, hurry up!" "No way!" Cedric transformed into his human form. "Not until you tell me what happened." "Phobos... Well, he had an accident." Vathek chose words carefully. "You won't believe me if I'll tell you." "What kind of accident?" Cedric frowned. "Quit speaking in riddles!" "Cedric. Just follow me, unless you want to be the last to find out."
Cedric looked at his friend suspiciously. This sounded like a trap and common sense told him not to go. But there two reasons why he didn't worry about ambushes. First - Vathek one of those idiots who divide things into honorable and dishonorable and he avoided doing the latter ones. Second - Cedric trusted his strength enough to take care of an ambush, even if there was one.
"Alright." He said calmly. "Lead the way."
