Day 9...
Trying to keep her anger under control, Elyon ascended the stairs. Step after step, it almost seemed like there would be no end to the tower. But eventually, the wooden door popped up again.
Back in the art studio Phobos had prepared for her the other day, the princess closed the door behind her, then locked it. Her blood practically boiled. Phobos didn't take her seriously. Couldn't he see the strategic worth of her knowledge about the guardians? Or did he simply not want her on their case? "I'd rather deal with them, instead of all this sitting around and looking pretty..." Elyon spoke to herself, looking over her shoulder at the door. "And at least they don't belittle me like this..."
She shook her head. Don't think about it! Let it go and ask again later... She sat down on the single seat and looked at the canvas in front of her. Maybe if Cedric comes with me... Before she knew it, Elyon already held a pensil and started drawing...

[Enter: Cedric from the Throne Room]
Knock! Knock!
"Um...Elyon? Could I...come in?"

Elyon dropped her pencil as she heard Cedric's voice. He actually came! She hoped he would, but now he actually did! She nearly tripped on her dress as she made her way to the door to unlock it again. With a click, the door slowly opened... "Off course."

He greeted her with a wide, encouraging grin. "How are you today?"
He wondered if getting her mind off of whatever Phobos put into it would make things better...

"Okay, I guess..." Elyon replied. She's been better, but the day had only just begun... "Cedric... Why is Phobos so... like this?" she asked, almost immediatly after her reply.

"So like...what? Did he do something to you?"
And even if he didn't, he would in only a month or two...

Elyon thought about a good word to put it, but eventually came up with "Annoying..." It certainly failed to describe what she wanted to say, or hwo Phobos had been acting. "Ever since last night... He's been acting weird and treating me like a child... Do I really look like some random kid?" Off course, Elyon knew that she was only still a teenager, and certainly not the tallest of her generation. But she didn't need a babysitter like some five-year old, right?

"Of course not," Cedric said honestly. "If you looked into the mirror, you'd see the fierce glare of a queen staring back at you. I'm guessing Phobos merely bumped his head last night...after all, he was unconscious, wasn't he? A lot of things can happen when someone goes unconscious..."
Elyon wasn't stupid. She wasn't falling for that, he knew. He just hoped she'd pretend to.

"Yeah... right..." Elyon looked at the ground for a moment, before she decided to get back to the canvas. Her drawing was far from finished, and it was impossible at this stage to make out what it was supposed to be...
"Maybe you can talk some sense into him?" the princess asked as she got back into the seat. "I bet you can make him agree with my plan!"

"Plan?" Cedric gulped. He hadn't expected Elyon to take this all so seriously...oh, but what was he expecting? For her to just follow Phobos like nothing's happening? But he was worried. What plan of hers did that selfish prince didn't approve of? But importantly, just what exactly will he do to prevent it from taking place?

"Yeah. I want to fight them, Cedric. My frie--" oops. Almost blundered twice in a row! But Elyon quickly cut the sentence short and corrected that. "--I mean... The guardians. Phobos should have enough on his mind without them running around and trying to ruin everything. But he just rolled his eyes and pointed out my inexperience..." Off course, Elyon knew her brother was right. But controlling magic and fighting seemed much easier to learn than politics and diplomacy. Especially since both Phobos and Cedric already helped her learn about a fraction of her powers already. And if Cornelia and Irma managed to get so strong so quickly, surely she could catch up to them in no time...

"So you're saying...you want to learn to fight?"

"Exacly!" Elyon smiled. She knew Cedric would understand her. She felt he was the only one who really could...

"Hmm..." he rubbed his chin and pondered. A number of questions popped into his mind. "It would be efficient for you, especially since you're to succeed him..."
Or so she thought. He held back a cringe at the thought. "We're going to need some arrangements, if this is to be done. First and foremost, who would train you?"
But he already had a bad idea of who it was going to be.

Elyon smiled. She knew Cedric would agree... And she also had a trainer for her in mind already... "Well... If I may make a suggestion... I do recall you 'knowing a lot about me'..." She teased, reciting Cedric's statement during their first meeting. She had no idea back then... It really felt like ages ago...
