Drake: "We haven't decided that yet. There's gonna be a vote after the treaty."

"Okay." Vathek blinked with surprise. He wanted to ask about Caleb's position, but something prevented him from doing that. "So... Right. Phobos. I'll be right back."
Vathek looked around, looking for a soldier to ask for directions. But there were no soldiers in the courtyard. "Does anyone know where I can find him?" Vathek asked. "It's been a while since I've last seen the prince."

Drake: "What? You don't know where our prince is?"

"Your prince?" Vather almost fainted. "What kind of rebels are you anyway? Wait, no, don't answer that. I'll just... go look for him."
Vathek turned away to hide his expression. What the hell? How can the rebels call Phobos their prince? He was supposed to be their mortal enemy! Something was definitely wrong about this. But Vathek didn't bother trying to figure that out. Instead, he went into the castle, looking for Phobos.

[Enter: Vathek from the Strategy Room]
It isn't pleasant to deliver unpleasant news. The thought of telling a big crowd of people that they and their rebellion isn't important enough to deserve immediate attention and that they have to pack their bags and get out of here. Vathek thought of just leaving, going into the forest without saying a word to anyone. Yeah, let the prince take care of his own dirty work. Staying here and being two faced all the times was quite difficult and, considering that it wasn't even an assignment but his own free will... Vathek was wondering what the hell was wrong with him. With that thought, he appeared in front of Drake, who seemed to be the temporary leader - or something like that. "Well." Vathek scratched his head. "The thing is... Phobos is extremely busy at the moment." Doing nothing. Vathek almost said that, but instead he breathed in and tried again. "Yeah... Very busy... So, unfortunately, his message was for you to choose one representative - your leader - and have him meet the prince tomorrow." Vathek then rubbed his teeth. "Yeah." He finished. "That's pretty much all he said."

[Enter: Lord Cedric from the Forest]
Moments after that, Cedric returned from his journey to Tracker's Lair. He was still wondering why on earth did he had to go there. Everyone knew about the portal and it wasn't difficult to find it. Well, it was probably because he needed some time in the wild. But now that he was back, Cedric wanted nothing else but to go to sleep. His thought were distracted by the noise the rebels were making. And the stench. "Who allowed these... peasants to gather here?" Cedric asked himself. There was no one to answer his question anyway. All soldiers were gone and Cedric didn't feel like talking to Vathek. Besides, it seemed like the blue giant didn't mind making new friends. Right after he got his old one nearly sliced in two. Oh, well. If this filth was here, it was probably Phobos' doing. Cedric couldn't care less - he just didn't want their stench to bother him anymore, so he left.

[Enter: Caleb and a rebel from the Main Gate]
It took them good two hours to crawl into the courtyard without getting spotted by the crowd. Well, outsmarting the rebels was still easier than outsmarting soldiers - a fact Caleb didn't like very much. But still he crawled, until they found a good hiding spot behind some crates and barrels. "So what's the plan?" The rebel asked. "If we're not burning the library, then what?" "Let me think." Caleb said, scratching his back. "You're telling me that we just invaded the castle and you don't even have a second plan?" "I guess you could say that." Caleb nodded. "But hey, cheer up! Doesn't it make life more fun?" "No, it doesn't." The rebel denied. "Oh." Caleb was full of disappointment. "Well, then it means we are different. Perhaps I should have brought another." "You're thinking about this now?!" "Well, you could have said you're a coward back there." Caleb said. "Don't blame me now. Anyways..." He added quickly, before the rebel could say anything else. "Now that we're here, there's no turning back. Let's keep crawling and maybe we'll discover something interesting." "You do know that you'll get us caught, right?" The rebel moaned. Caleb chuckled and prepared to move on, without answering the question.

Things started to get restless. It had been quite a while and no new rebel leader was picked yet. It just didn't feel right, or at least that's what Aldarn thought.
Phobos was the one who proposed the peace treaty but something was off... Where the heck was he!? It started to look like the prince only proposed the treaty to stimulate fighting among themselves. "This is wrong!" Aldarn suddenly shouted. The rebels around got quiet and looked at him with mixed expressions. "Caleb was right everyone! We- we can't just do this!" "What are you blabbering about?" an elderly man said. "We've waited for this day for many years! Peace is just a round of voting away. We finally won!" Aldarn shook his head. "No. No we haven't." He looked around for a bit to see if there's a way for him to stand out from the crowd a bit more. He climbed atop the table where the body of Phobos' imposter was. "People, hear me!" he started. "I know that we're tired and weakened right now. I know that we all long for peace. But this isn't the way! Signing this peace treaty doesn't mean we've won the war! It means that we're giving up on our hopes, our ideals!" "What? You too?" one of the rebels in the crowd shouted back. "You're starting to sound like Caleb!" "Yes. And that's because Caleb was right! He tried to tell us but we wouldn't listen!" "He tried to ruin everything by attacking Phobos!" "Look around you, people!" Aldarn persisted. "Phobos isn't here! He made us wait for hours and still he hasn't come! We're surrounded by walls and guards can swarm this place at the drop of a hat! There's every possibility that this is just another trap!"
The masses went silent... Aldarn couldn't tell what they thought. He could only hope that they realize what he realized. "I understand that everyone wants to sign this treaty and get the fighting over with. Heck, I even said the same thing when Caleb stood here! But please look around you and see where we are! I can't see any Phobos or treaty! And I don't think any of them will come. Not as long as this... tyrant keeps playing us like puppets!" He got off the table again and walked towards the main gate. "Wait! Where are you going!?" the elderly man asked. "I'm going to find Caleb. And I'm going to beg for his forgiveness..."

Drake: "Alright, fine. You do that... I was getting tired of this duo leadership crap anyway."
Many rebels murmur agreement. Drake makes a speech about the many virtues of today's (or tomorrow's) treaty.

"Drake!" Aldar interrupted him. He turned around and approached his comrade. "I'm not going to argue with you Drake. As your friend I can only hope that you choose to do the right thing." He then pressed his finger on Drake's chest in an intimidating fashion. "But I swear... If you become one of Phobos' goonies, then I shall treat you like one without hesitation!" He turned back to the main gate, shouting "That goes for all you!" to the rest of the crowd.
While Aldarn slowly approached the gate, he was quickly joined by about ten rebels following him back to Caleb. Surrounding rebels started arguing with each other. It started small with minor disagreements on Drake's and Aldar's speeches, but quickly escalated until everyone in the courtyard begun yelling. Some even started punching and kicking without killing each other for petty reasons like that. Drake's booming voice and authority couldn't calm them down and by the time Aldar and his ten comrades left Phobos' territory, roughly four hunderd others came after them. Aldar smiled. The rebellion is alive!

Drake looks around at the room full of 400 rebels--half of which are women & children. His heart is filled with scorn. Drake: Aldarn will pay for this! I don't care if I have to cut down every blasted traitor to get to him, I'll make him pay for making me look the fool. This I swear! "Just one more! If just one more person decides to desert, I swear I'll take out my sword & kill him myself!" The twenty rebels who were thinking about running to catch up with Aldar instantly reconsider their hasty decision. Now that the issue seems to be handled, Drake leads the remaining rebels in their daily exercises.

Big thanks to Ellie for single-handedly freeing the rebels. Vathek stood there, quietly witnessing the drama before his eyes. There wasn't anything for him to say or do anyway. Half of the rebel forces quickly left, looking determined to do the right thing, but Vathek realized how grim things really are. The rebel forces were already at a great disadvantage as a whole - outnumbered and lacking sufficient armaments, facing Phobos, Cedric, their minions and magic and even Elyon, now they also had to deal with their former comrades. They practically became Phobos' hostages on their own free will. Question is - is it worth trying to convince them? Or would it be more convenient to disregard them altogether? The second choice was heartless, but probably the right one. There's no way they could do anything if they let themselves be concerned by the renegade rebel group. Question is - was Caleb heartless enough to make the right choice? Vathek groaned. The whole situation was a tad too hopeless for his tastes. A part of him, some despicable, sinister evil side, wanted to crawl back to Phobos and continue doing his bidding - whatever it was - in exchange for the safety of his own hide. Rebels and their hopeless plight be d**ned. But Vathek knew he'd never forgive himself for that. Ah, things were so simple back in the day, when he too dumb to care. "Right then." He scratched his head. "What should I do?" He was ordered to repair Phobos' throne room, but that right now sounded like a joke. Phobos surely must know about Vathek's true feelings towards the rebellion, so playing an insider was probably not an option anymore. He should probably just go ahead and meet up with the rebels. But what then? They were probably too worn out to do anything and there was always a chance Phobos would send someone to trail him. So for now, Vathek simply walked out of the castle grounds, trying to avoid eye contact. [Exit: Vathek to the Main Gate]
