"See!?" Elyon snapped back. "That's exacly what I mean! You're not listening to a word I say, do you!? Are you even hearing me!?" She impatiently stomped toward the door, opened it and looked back again. "You know, Phobos." she spoke with a bit of regret filling her voice. "Just now in the courtyard, I actually got some respect for you, but the way you're acting now... It's as if you don't even want me to respect you..."

"Elyon, please!" Cedric knelt down and whispered into the princess' ear. "I know that Phobos' ignorance is hard to bear, I know that often he sounds like an idiot, but please... try to forgive him, try to understand! At least he's allowing us to go to Heatherfield!"
Cedric looked up at Phobos and rolled his eyes. He didn't want the prince to think that he's on Elyon's side. Of course, he didn't want the opposite either.

Phobos: "What? You've just asked me to arrange a trip back to Heatherfield & that's exactly what I've done." *takes a step closer* "I'm sorry if you were hoping I'd offer to come with you & help with your plan, but I can't. The veil keeps me trapped here." *sighs as he looks at the floor* "I can't even enter the portals. Those d**ned guardians... But if Lord Cedric isn't enough assistance..." *looks at Elyon* "I'm sure I could fine someone else to accompany you as well."

"My... My lord, I'm sure I'll manage!" Cedric stood up angrily glaring at the prince. Of course, he almost fell back down instantly, but somehow Cedric managed to stay on his feet. "I've been through worse than this, even when there wasn't anyone to actually help me fight the pain."
My word, navigating between these two is too troublesome. Cedric wanted all this to be over as soon as possible - one way or another.

"You're. Not. Listening!" Elyon yelled back, still standing in front of the open door. "You haven't arranged anything! You've just been sitting there since I came in! I don't need you to show me any dusty old portal!" She sighed again and clenched a fist. "I don't want you to arrange just a normal trip to Heatherfield..." she continued in a much calmer tone. "I was hoping you would help think up a plan. Set a trap. Cast a lure... Anything I can't think of doing! Because just now in the courtyard... You even had me fooled..."
She stayed silent for a second as her eyes flared up again. "So why...?" the princess shouted. "Why are you like this, every time I'm around!? You ignored while I was talking to you! You put up ridiculous and paper-thin acts whenever I critisize you! I had the rebel leader presented to you on a silver platter, but you didn't even seem pleased the slightest bit! You refuse to acknowledge anything I say and you don't appreciate anything I do around here!" It was done... She said it... She revealed to her brother what bothers her most about him... She wasn't just some rusty old toy that you can play around with and throw away once you're done... Not anymore... She warned him enough. It was time to start backing those warnings up...

Phobos: "You're right. I don't appreciate a thing." *takes a step forward* "I don't appreciate the constant yelling." *takes a step forward* "I don't appreciate the redecorating in my throne room." *takes a step forward* "I don't appreciate your little secrets that you think I'm too dumb to know about." *takes a step forward* "But most of all..." *gets down on one knee so he's at eye-level* "I don't appreciate you ordering me about. You may be the Light of Meridian, but you're not in charge--not yet. Not until after your coronation."

"Great! In that case, I'll do you a favour, 'highness'!" Elyon hissed like an old moody Sharvack. She tore Phobos' royal emblem off her dress, held it up to the prince's eyes for a moment, and promptly burned the fabric. "I hope you'll arrange a wonderful coronation without me!" She spat as she finally walked through the door she had opened and left. "I am out of this dump!!"
[Exit: Elyon to her room]

"Really, my prince." Cedric said ironically after a moment of silence. "All that brilliant planning of ours, yet we failed to foresee that power will turn her into such a brat. And to think she was a nice girl in the beginning..." Cedric looked around, spotted a chair and sat on it. "You know..." He said, staring at the ceiling. "This is what irritates me the most. I mean, what would she be without us? Just another human being in a world swarming with them. And yet she was kind and polite, always willing to help her friends out. Now we bring her here. We give her power. We show her respect. We reveal the truth about her being the future queen. And what do we get for all that? Yeah, her true self. And the more of it I discover, the less I like it."

Since Phobos didn't bother to say anything, Cedric sighed and interrupted the silence once more. "As much as I'd love to stay here and relax, maybe do something interesting for a change, I guess I'll go look how your beloved sister is faring." He said slowly, with a smile. "We don't want her doing anything... more stupid than usual, do we?"
Cedric stood up - reluctantly. His body was still weak and his head was spinning - if Elyon will start another of her soap operas, it might just be too much to take with a smile on his face. Still, it was Cedric's... duty and he had to do it.
"I think it's best if you keep your distance, my prince." Cedric said before leaving. "I'll try to explain the difference between princes and middle-school psychologists to her. I hope it'll do us some good."
[Exit: Lord Cedric to Elyon's Chamber]

After staring off in space for several minutes, he recovers from his shock as a heavy burden is finally lifted from his heart.
If she leaves, then he won't have to kill her. She can have her Heatherfield life back & he can remain the Dark Lord of Meridian indefinitely. Yes, it is a shame that his plan to steal her powers failed. But is that really so wrong? She was prepared to risk her life to save his. It wouldn't be right for him to kill her--his only remaining family. Perhaps this is for the better?
Servants arrive with food & Phobos begins to eat.

"I'm sorry, my prince." A soldier that was guarding the door from the other side said as he came in. "But sir Vathek is here and he wishes to see you. What should I tell him?"

He wipes his mouth with a napkin as he finishes his last bite, then sets it on the tray of dirty dishes.
Phobos: "Let him in." *points at the tray* "And take this with you on the way out."

"Yes, my prince." the soldier said, picking up the dishes an leaving.
Vathek entered cautiously. After all that happened today, he was surprised to still be alive - and even free. Both Phobos and Cedric had a reason to kill him, but... No time for that now. "Forgive me for intruding, my prince." Vathek said casually. "But I was sent here by the rebels. They wish to know if you have spare time to... negotiate with them."

Phobos: "Is my throne room finished?"

"No, my prince." Vathek replied. "According to the workers, it should be fully repaired tomorrow. At best. I just took a break and somehow got myself in this... courier business."
