Such confidence Cedric thought, looking at Elyon silently You and Phobos have something in common. "If you have such confidence playing with fire, I'm sure you can summon it yourself. Am I right?"

"Pff" Did Cedric already forget? During her first stroll through Phobos' garden, she managed to create a rose - a living plant - out of thin air. How much harder could a flame be? She closed her eyes for a moment, concentrating on what she needed.
After a quiet moment, and a deep inhalation from Elyon, she opened her eyes again and set ablaze the very air above her hand. Impossible to most people, since air can't burn, but Elyon's mind rewrote that law of sience like it's nothing. "Come on, Cedric. Just because I can't go around transforming into big snakes doesn't mean you can't give me a challenge." she triumphantly taunted. "Give me something to do."

"Haha" Cedric laughed, content. "That's right, princess. Alright, I'll give you a more interesting task."
Cedric walked to the center of the clearing and said "So you can summon fire, right? But can you summon enough of it to deal with those who stand in your path, hmm?"
With that said, Cedric turned away from her and picked up a large rock - an average soldier wouldn't have been able to lift it - and made it float in the air in front of him. Then Cedric closed his eyes and pictured the rock in his mind, slowly changing its shape. It wasn't very easy for him, because Cedric wasn't the best of mages, but he still managed.
When Cedric opened his eyes again, he was staring at an illusion of Will - one of the guardians.
"Now, Elyon, I want you to show me just how terrifying can you be - and how do you deal with your enemies." He said with a vile smile on his face and took a few steps back.
This one's made of stone. Let's see if you can destroy it with just fire.

Quite unlike the prince, Cedric was actively preying on exploiting Elyon's anger and hatred at every oppurtunity. A habit she did not realize he was using. Or maybe she did realize it, but just didn't mind... Whatever the case, she took the bait immediatly and without question.
She seemed hesitant at first, but quickly enough broke that façade by creating about five more flares, and enlarging the one she already had. She then proceeded to attack Cedric's training dummy, pelting it flames, each one even more destructive than the last. She tried venting all her anger on the fake Will this way.
The rock was grinded into mere grains of sand in just a few seconds, and after hitting that pile of sand a few times more, Elyon stopped attacking, trying to catch her breath as she saw how her makeshift nemesis got carried away by the wind. Despite trying to take her anger out on the rock, she only felt a craving for more... "Well? What do you think?" she asked inbetween breaths. "Can I match them?"

Cedric felt a sick joy filling his heart but tried to disguise it. "Oh, Elyon," he said passionately "Match them? You already are above their level! Those...pathetic tricksters don't possess half the power you have. And while they're stuck in their level, you will continue to become more... and more powerful!"
Cedric was satisfied. Finally, some serious progress! But he had to be careful - and clever.
"You seem to... carry enough feelings to smash a copy of what's been poisoning your life for so long. Your emotion helped you now, but I want you to show me what you can do... with your feelings just getting in the way."
Cedric dropped all disguises now (except the shapeshifting one). He was vile and self confident, when he started speaking in a quiet, hissing voice.
"I want you to fight me, Elyon." He grinned "Right here and right now, as if I would be your enemy."
Cedric took a step towards Elyon, at the same time slowly changing into his original self.

Elyon's eyes opened wide. Did she hear that right? Fight him? She bit her lip for a moment. He... He wasn't serious, was he? After everything that happened today, it wasn't so much her own safety she was worried about... It was the fact that she nearly crushed Phobos under the roof of his own throne hall that caused her worries. If her magic goes out of control again, like it did earlier today, she could very well end up doing things she'll regret... "I... I can't..." She softly spoke. Cedric was the last person she would turn her anger on... "I don't want to..."

"But you have to," Cedric hissed, getting closer and closer "You value your life more than mine, don't you?"
Cedric was halfway through turning into his original self - his legs turned into a long tail, while the upper part of his body remained more human like, but with greener skin, larger fangs and eyes, burning with a green light. His hands turned into claws.
"The world is full of dangersss you can never imagine, princesss..." Cedric hissed "You have to be alwaysss prepared for them!"
Cedric felt as if a huge burden would have been lifted from his shoulders. Oh, it feels so good to be myself again...

Elyon turned away. "I said no!" she repeated.
It was quite an odd experience, however. Hearing how Cedric's normally calm, collected and sweet voice turned into such a monsterous hiss. He had done it before, but this second time, it started to sound a little... Scary... At least, scary enough for her to decide to prepare a small flame...

Cedric thought: I'm being ordered around. How very sad. The order that came from Elyon was very strong - and Cedric could feel pressure landing on his mind. Along with everything that kept harassing him day after day, this was a bit... too much.
"I thought we were friends, Elyon" Cedric said playfully and completed the transformation. "And friends don't order each other around." Then his eyes narrowed and he growled throughout the whole forest "Fight me! Now!"
He was close enough to land a crushing blow now. Come on, Elyon, do something!

"I don't want to!" Elyon yelled in response, demanding Cedric's silence by hurling the fire at him. Quite a conflicting attitude indeed... In no time at all, what started out as nothing more than a candlelight, turned into a huge stream of fire. The big snake could barely duck to avoid contact, allowing the searing heat of Elyon's attack to radiate onto his scaly skin. Quickly enough, the fire hit the bark of one of the surrounding trees. Needless to say, the surrounding forest quickly caught fire as well... But Elyon only looked at Cedric... "It's too dangerous to fight! Don't you get it? I don't want to hurt yout, but if you force me to fight you, I know I'll go out of control!" Her eyes slowly filled with tears...
"Please..."

Cedric turned back into his human self again "That's exactly my point, princess. You allow your emotions to get the best of you! That's why you burried the throne room in rubble! That's why you can't learn to fly or to shapeshift - you don't trust yourself enough! That's why you can't handle harder tasks - like attacking me - without losing control."
"I was just trying... to teach you how to control yourself - how to use huge amounts of power without losing it. How to use it for subtle things - like flying." Cedric groaned quietly, carefully touching his burnt skin. "I guess it wasn't the right way of teaching."
"Now, perhaps you could put the flames out? We don't want the forest burn down." Cedric smiled forcefully "By the way, I told you not to burn my hair..."

It... It was just a trick? A ruse to get his point across? Elyon felt foolish for having to be lectured like this... No doubt Phobos would've loved to see the scene...
"I... I'm sorry..." she said, letting the fire die down... "I'm so sorry..."

Cedric observed her reaction carefully.
"Princess... No, Elyon. Listen" he started "What I'm doing now might seem... mean or even heartless sometimes, but I'm not doing such things because I like it. I'm forced to do it - for your own good. Your enemies - they may not be as strong as you, but they can still use various tricks - they'll try playing with you. They'll want to manipulate you. They might even try... shapeshifting as well. They might take my shape."
Cedric sighed "A day might come when you'll have to fight regardless of your emotions - I'm trying to prepare you for that. It's not what Phobos wants, it's what I want to do. I care about you, Elyon and I'm just trying to do the right thing."
Cedric looked down and tried to look ashamed. He closed his eyes and used his remaining magical power to make his face paler.

"It's okay... You're right." Elyon said, looking at the ground - specifically avoiding looking at Cedric. "I hate to admit it, but you're right..."

This isn't good... I have to do something quick.
"Elyon, look at me," he said gently. "It was a mistake. I... I didn't think it through. Elyon, if that will make you lose faith in me, it'll break my heart."
Cedric's voice started shaking "Elyon, please. Look at me."
