It is related to your spirit, there's no doubt about that.

Tom, I could claim that I don't believe in electricity & that all electronics run off of magic. It's total bullsh*t, yet I could believe it because I've never actually seen electricity. But my ignorance doesn't change the truth--the electronics still run off of electricity. The same is true for you & your claim not to believe in spirits. You are alive, yet you doubt what gives you life. Go to a funeral & look at a corpse the next time you have a chance. The only thing you have that it lacks is a soul/spirit. What more proof do you need?

I'd like to add my little 'two cents' on that comment. I personally don't believe in a 'spirit', humans are part of the same life cycle as everything else on the planet and they function because their brains are active. When they die, their cells have shut down and their body is no longer active. A corpse is no longer a living organism, merely organic matter that will eventually decompose. You can prove exactly how electricity works, how Edison created the very first light bulb and how they create the various appliances and electronics we use today. Just my thoughts...

I've seen proof that spirits exist (via dreams & the Ouija Board). I'm sorry that I am unable to share the proof with you via my words, but that's just how it is. But whatever... Believe that the world is flat if it makes you feel any better.

I'm not here to convert anyone. I'm merely here to share my knowledge with those who will listen with an open mind. If my words are dismissed as lies, then there is little reason for me to continue this debate.

this is a discussion if different ways to see the world, not if the way you see the world is right or wrong. You said that you saw proof, but the examples you brought are not tangible evidence, i didnt say what you say is a lie, it might be the truth, just what you bring as proof is not reliable

Nothing done in a forum is reliable. Even something as simple as proving apples exist is impossible. Yes, one can post a picture of an apple but that does't prove it's real. It is nothing more than a picture after all--who's to say the photo wasn't altered with Photoshop?

I'd like to add my little 'two cents' on that comment. I personally don't believe in a 'spirit', humans are part of the same life cycle as everything else on the planet and they function because their brains are active. When they die, their cells have shut down and their body is no longer active. A corpse is no longer a living organism, merely organic matter that will eventually decompose. I say well done to you. I've been ofline for months and a healthy dbate is just what i need. It's good to get philosophical. I may quote from the begining as i only just read this whole topic. This might be a tad...long....so keep up! I tell people that i believe in reincarnation. But it's complicated, because, i do! Yet i don't. I think most of us believe what we want to believe, not what we really do. If i were to be realistic: I believe that, when you die, you die. Your dead. Just matter. Your soul? Erased...gone. You never were. Just vanished. But if i were to tell people that, then they would think me as some cynical freak. Ouija Boards....it's allways some of your friends winding you up...i don't believe in ghosts. And deamons and stuff? Nope. Don't believe a word. Or magic... About Aliens. I sincerly doubt that we are the only inhabited planet in the entire multiverse. And about invading? We don't know they exist so it's very likely that they do not know our existace. They could be another human race searching for life somewhere but billions of lightyears away. and does that neccessarily have to be because that we have a soul? humans are a biological machineby electrical impulses. would a machine need a so called soul? soul is something we have invented, mostly religions have invented. and if we now had a soul where is it then? free floating in the air? in our body? somewhere else? I agree with you there. We are machines made from blood, mucle tissue and other materials. Machiens need metal just as we need bones to funcition. We, no matter how inteligent and how we progress into technology, will probably never in our entire existance create a computer a tenth as advanced as our brain. We have developed emotions and feelings in order to cope with the world just like firewalls have been developed to cope with viruses. I think a soul seperate humans from animals. I love ani8mals and I think that they are intelligent, but humans are different. Animals are built to survive just like us. How come humans are the 'superior' race when we've been on this earth for a millosecond of the earths day. (Metaphorically of corse) If souls exist then why don't animals have them? Animals are smarter then most humans. They do't bomb each other up. They do what they can to keep their species alive. We seem to be doing everything to destroy each other. The majority of the human race is a violent, hate filled spiecies who shut their ears of the cry of suffering. I've been very interested to read the opinions of those who don't have my views. I'm an Atheist. I don't believ in heaven, hell, god, saten, souls, spirits or ghosts. But i do believe in individulatity. And i find it rather amusing that This board is called The Path to Enlightmentemt, which is the Buddist guidlines, when the person who started the board was christian. I would say that that,s my two-cents but its more then just two because this is me catching up with the past 8 pages or so!!!!

i just read about it aswell. I fairly agree with Nililism but the pointlessness of existance? Not so much. The point of our existance is to be. To exist in the first place. There is also the more HGL religion who's belief is: Things just happen...What the hell.
(HGL meaning HappyGoLucky. I take this certain view myself aswell sometimes.)

No. Jesus was a religios politition for his time and the people needed a reason for the world to keep them happy so they believed he was the son of god. Maybe, in the end, he ended up believeing it. But the whole magic part of it was tales and legends made up by the public. Plus, these miricles are no worse then magic and yet the bible quotes 'Thou shalt not suffer a witch.'
Like the adem/eve story. If they had children...then wouldn't that be considered incest which is against the law.
