A room behind all the bookshelves, filled with more bookshelves. Here is where Cedric hid the portal between the bookstore and Meridian. A portal that revealed itself only under influence of a specific book, hidden in one of the shelves. Also, some sort of crystal ball was present, so that Cedric could contact prince Phobos when needed to...

Day 10, night...
[Enter Elyon from the Bookstore]
Elyon walked past the bookshelves into the back of the store. Into this room. She carefully closed the door behind her.
This room was what one could expect from a giant lizard-from-Metamoor-gone-to-earth... It could've easilly been part of the palace's archives. There was even some sort of glass sphere placed on the desk, with a small case of gold-coloured sand next to it. "Cedric, you're so old-fashioned..." she said to no one.
She sat down at the small desk, shoving aside the sandcase and glass ball for a bit. Then she placed the book she took on the surface of the desk. "Oh, of all books..." she mumbled as she rolled her eyes. A Life In Magic About Magicians And Illusionists What are the odds? But Elyon desperately needed something to take her mind off the whole Matt business so she decided to open the book up and start reading anyway. With a bit of luck, the texts would be boring and prompt her to sleep...

Day 11, friday. Just a few minutes after the sun crawled out.
Slowly, Elyon opened her eyes. What was the time? Where was she? Oh yeah. That's right. She was here, in Heatherfield in the back of Cedric's bookstore. Closing her eyes again to shield them from the light just a little longer, she got up and looked at what she had been doing. "I must've dozed off..." she said to herself once she realized that she had spent the remainder of the night using page 25 of the book for a pillow. But this was new... She felt refreshed. Revitalized. She could feel her magic swirling around inside her rearranging and... Growing? She wasn't really sure about that last bit but she certainly felt different somehow. As if she suddenly gained control of a whole new array of things, in addition to what she could already manipulate.
She got up from the old chair but had to correct her legs a few times to prevent losing her balance. Her body was still busy adjusting itself to whatever magical reaction was developping inside her. Starting with all of her senses. She actually had to cover her ears for the faint sound of creaking floorboards. This happened before, didn't it? She remembered briefly experiencing this heightened awareness of everything just a few days ago. At Yan Lin's funeral. She never did wonder why it didn't persist, not even for a second. But now, for some reason, it was back.
She actually wanted to go up to the front of the bookstore and let Cedric know that she was awake. But she already knew he was absent. She couldn't see, hear or feel anything that could give away his pressence. Off course, that meant she had to look for him. He really shouldn't miss out on today's main event...
A smile formed on Elyon's lips. A tight, tiny smile. Cedric warned her that the girls might detect such a spike in magical energy but she didn't mind anymore. Elyon felt stronger than ever before. Why would she worry about guardians? She approached the back wall. Cedric probably was somewhere in Heatherfield and it wasn't unlikely that he might've disguised himself as another. A great oppurtunity to put her magic-enhanced senses to the test.
Elyon stepped forward, allowing her body to melt into the wall. She didn't know how or why she could do it. She didn't care. All that mattered was that she could. Half a second later, she appeared from the other side of the very same wall, in the street behind the bookstore.
Today's the day...

Day 11 Friday Somewhere in the afternoon
[enter: Elyon from Heatherfield's Dinosaur Exibit]
Elyon quickly got back to this room. She thought she needed a lot more time to set the trap, but in the end it just came down to only a few minutes... Now she was stuck playing the waiting game.
She looked around the room for something to do in the meantime and noticed the mirror. Elyon sighed. "I guess I might as well..." she said as she approached the mirror. "Let's see if I can get that shapechanging down today..."

A few hours passed...
Elyon looked her reflection in the eyes. She recognized them as her own... Despite the rest of her having changed into someone else entirely. It took some doing, but she could finally tell Cedric she succeeded for once. She finally managed to do as he wished. Even if she didn't like her new, mature face. The fact she could see her own hatred burning in her reflection's eyes made it a lot easier to view this new ability as a tool, however...
The moment was ruined when Elyon heard her stomach groan. Her concentration wavered for just a moment, causing her body to return to it's original -and prefferd- form. But still, she smiled. "I guess I missed breakfast..." she said to herself. After all, her last meal was last night, in Meridian.
She stepped away from Cedric's mirror, her thoughts having shifted from mastering magic to satisfying her hunger. She could go and make a run for the 24/7 store. But for that, she would need some money. Earth money. She qoucly searched all of her pockets for some change. Nothing. In retrospect, it might not've been such a good idea to have left home without some money... And then it hit her.
"Home!" Elyon repeated after her thoughts. "I could see if there's some usefull stuff left at my supposed 'home'!" After all, anything left there wouldn't be of any further use to her 'parents' anyway...
[Exit: Elyon to Elyon's house; the living room]
