Elyon's eyes widened and she could just barely prevent her jaw from dropping in an embarrassing fashion. Of all people he had to pick Matt Olsen. "Heh..." she exhaled, releasing his hands. "Impressive." she admitted. "But not very effective. If you're aiming to hurt them, you need someone a little closer to them than Matt Olsen. Like close friends or family members. Or love interests... Matt's more like an acquaintance to them." She quickly turned her head away to hide the blush that was forming on her cheeks. She didn't really want to tell Cedric that she had a crush on Matt herself...

"Oh, but didn't you notice?" Cedric's smile got even wider, now that Elyon wasn't looking. "The poor little guardian is in love with this guy! The way she acts when he's around... Why, it's so sad to watch it. So very sad. To think that that thing can make you suffer like this and at the same time be so weak!" Cedric examined his newfound body with growing satisfaction. "In a world where people die every day, where people starve, steal, lie, deceive and stab each other in the back, there is still room for love." The new Matt said softly. "The purest of feelings? We'll see about that."

"N-No she's not..." Elyon said. She was, quite obviously, in denial. "You can go ahead and try it, but I doubt it'll work out the way you want it." She turned back to Cedric - Matt - Cedric... Whoever, with a weird look on her face. As if she couldn't decide wether she wanted to look indifferent, sad or angry about the fact. Off course, the fact that she lied also played a part...

"It will work out. Trust me." Cedric finally stopped smiling. Or at least he tried. "But hey, you don't even have to trust me, you'll get to see for yourself, won't you? Being invisible isn't a problem to you anyway." Now that he was full of strength - both physical and magical - and had a nasty plan in his mind, Cedric was eager to act. The chance of crushing the guardians was withing his grasp, so why not take it? He could see how this form, Matt's form was unpleasant to Elyon. But oh well. This time she'll just have to deal with it. "So, my princess." Cedric said teasingly, even if he didn't know what for. "What do you say we get going?"

"Well..." Actually she liked this idea even less than shifting shape herself. "I think I really should get some sleep first. And it's dark outside, so I'm sure I'm not the only one with that idea..." She tried smiling. Instead, she looked like a nervous teenager who's making excuses. Elyon reached for a bookshelf to casually lean on - and missed twice before finding one. I look like an idiot...

"Elyon." Cedric raised his eyebrows. "Is something wrong? I was aiming to torture Will, not you. And yet..." Cedric knew little about love. In his life, he didn't love anyone - well, maybe except for himself. To him, love was the dumbest of all feelings - it makes people weak and easy to manipulate. He used that feeling to trick Elyon, he used that feeling to fight his foes many times before. He wanted to destroy Will in the same manner. He liked when love was helping him do things, not getting in the way. There obviously was something he didn't know. Was Elyon in love with this guy? That would be troublesome, it could weaken his influence on Elyon. "You know, you're right." Cedric said, turning back. "You probably should get some rest. You didn't sleep at night, right?" Cedric really wanted to spit on the ground. Why are people so weak? Why is it so hard for Elyon to use her mind instead of her feelings? He had to destroy the guardians, he simply had to do that - with or without Elyon's help. Now that he had so much energy, Cedric was confident. He doesn't need anyone's help. I guess I'll just have to get her out of my way. He thought. His eyes were flaring with anger. And then do what has to be done. "But at least let me go and make sure that there is no danger around. And maybe buy some food while I'm at it."

"Yeah sure. Go ahead." Elyon replied. She could use a little breathing space of her own... "I'll go and make myself comfortable, so no need to worry about me."

"My bed is in the back if you need it." Cedric said. "Not the most comfortable, but I'm afraid it's the only one we have here." He tried to remember the shape of any random guy he met in the streets. It didn't take him long and Cedric turned into an old, bearded man dressed in rags. "No one should be able to recognize the handsome me in this body. Well, I'm off."

As soon as the door closed and Cedric vanished from the other side of the window display, Elyon let out a sigh of relief. Quickly followed by her hitting herself on the head. "Ow! Why did I have to act so stupid!?" she asked herself. "Why would I even care at this point? Everything here is fake anyway." Then a horrible thought crossed her mind... If her parents were traitors and the girls were her enemies... Could that mean Matt was a fake too!? "No! Don't think about it!" she ordered herself. But wait a second... Weren't Hay Lin and Irma the ones who convinced her to ask Matt out on a date? Wasn't Matt supposed to come pick her up, when she suddenly found herself here, in Cedric's bookstore? And let's not forget that Cedric was the one to save her from all those horrible lies... "Just don't...!" she repeated, hitting herself again. Darn it! Why did it have to make so much sense? She slowly fell to the wooden floor, trying to beat the thought out of her head. But apart from giving her a headache, it didn't help much. Elyon pulled herself together and helped herself up. "Easy now... Easy..." she whispered to herself. "You're overreacting, Elyon. There's no reason to suspect such a thing..." At least, not yet... She quickly took the first book she could see from the shelf and took it with her to the back. Matt... Another minion of Kandrakar... Her mind was playing tricks on her... I know right? Fun with irony. [exit Elyon to the Room in the Back]

[Enter: Lord Cedric from Will's Room]
Why did he come here? Cedric had no idea. With no food and no explanation for being late, maybe he shouldn't have come. But since lying to Elyon wasn't very difficult, he didn't bother worrying. But after all that took place, he completely forgot about wearing a different skin. Probably because he liked it this much. So Cedric the beggar came in and made himself at home. But since Elyon was probably asleep, he tried not to make noise.

Cedric finished building a castle out of his newfound beard and nodded like an accomplished sculptor. Such is the magnificence of beards. "I must be losing my mind." Cedric sighed. Despite how much he tried fixing everything that needed fixing, the great plan was still falling apart. Even with him doing his best, nothing was the way it should have been. Elyon hates Phobos and wants to stay in her idiotic world. Phobos is doing... something? Cedric couldn't tell. And now, he failed to complete the simplest of tasks - to kill an unsuspecting guardian. For some reason, everyone expected him to talk. Everyone was waiting for him to say the things they wanted to hear. Cedric was good at doing so, but he didn't enjoy it. Too much is too much. When was the last time he was in battle? Where there is no need to think, when everything is so simple and yet so very beautiful. No other word for that. Perhaps he should just go away and leave everyone to sort things out among themselves? He's got a great body, he could live a lifetime of adventure this way. No need to lie and to pretend anymore. Elyon was in the back, obviously. For a moment Cedric wanted to go see her, to talk with her. To see how she's doing. But no. She'd probably start overreacting over everything, as usual and acting like she was the only one with problems. The nice girl that cared about others vanished forever, as much as Cedric didn't want to believe it. Well, it was his fault. Kind of. What if he would just go out for a walk? The night was beautiful and the streets were quiet. Plenty of time to relax, to remember the good things. To walk among trees and listen to what they have to say. To understand how unimportant any kingdom or war is compared to nature and its secrets. Cedric had a romantic side too, but there was nothing romantic about humans. He hated them all, right now - more than ever. He didn't want to face Elyon. Right now, he really was feeling like an old homeless man. But that didn't stop him from standing up and leaving again, to find at least a small trace of beauty in this disgusting world. And maybe kill some guardians while I'm at it.

[Enter: Elyon from Elyon's house]
"I was wondering when you'd come back." Elyon's voice suddenly spoke. The girl couldn't help but smirk at Cedric's surprise. After all, she came in without letting Cedric's bell ring... "So. Did you do something interesting while I was away?"

Cedric sighs as he put the book he was holding away. This wretched planet is completely void of anything even remotely interesting. "If only..." He decides what he was about to say may be inappropriate & instead attempts to change the subject as he turns to gaze at the lovely princess. "But enough about me. How was your day?" "Did you enjoy your visit back to your childhood home?"

"Heh..." Elyon's lips tightened in the tiniest of smiles. "You are good." She approached the counter and decided to sit on it. "It was more of a neccesary evil than an enjoyable field trip." she admitted as she crossed her legs and looked at Cedric. "I hope the girls fall for our trap soon, Cedric. I don't like having to wait around like this."
