"I'm just lucky I wasn't bug food," she sighed. She had been excited about the chance to prove herself, jumping off that ledge and racing down to the scene, and then she'd blown it. Those webs had just sprung up from nowhere! "I was wondering about that actually," Hay Lin said, glancing back at the humming portal behind them. Her wings fluttered behind her at the sight of it teeming with energy. "Because they were just dropping them all of. At least that's what I thought. Well, Will actually said 'make sure they don't kill themselves' but either way, it really shouldn't have taken them this long. Maybe the rebels got lost? Or they might have some out somewhere weird." She frowned, thinking about all of the different things that could have gone wrong. It made her feel a little guilty, like she should have been there to help them out, but at the same time she knew that she would be an awful friend if she'd left Irma behind while she was out cold from saving her. All the same, where were the others?

"When Corny's with them, everything can go wrong. She'll just hvae to stick around with Caleb or any other hot young meridian male." she said with her usually tone and continued. "You should go after them. I'll be fine here."

Hay Lin smiled slightly, then frowned. It wasn't nice to pick on Cornelia, even if it was sort of true that she had seemed pretty interested in Caleb the last time they had seen him in Meridian. "A-are you sure? I mean, I am a little worried about how long they're taking..." But she wasn't sure how much use she would be, considering the web incident and the fact that she wasn't firing on all cylinders after their trek through the palace and battle with the Larveks. "But I don't want to leave you by yourself if you're not okay. You did pass out, remember?"

"I'm fine Hay-Hay. And if I pass out again, at least it will be here on Earth this time. And you know they need you in Meridian. Now go and save the day, or maybe the morning.. must be really early." she said.

She glanced up at the sky, where the starry night had been replaced by an expanse of blue that signaled the early morning. Wow. Had they really been out all night? She was tired, but that was all exertion tired, worn out after their face off with the various traps of Meridian. Hay Lin whistled softly. This must be running on adrenaline, otherwise she would have never been able to stay up through an entire night. "Well let's hope I can save something," she said, giving her friend a small smile as she stood up. If Irma was so gung-ho about her returning to Meridian, trying to back out would be very bad as far as her guardian career was concerned. Guardians were supposed to help people, not back out on their friends. "You better not pass out though. I mean it, those peepers stay open." She'd read something about passing out being bad in that first aid training booklet. "Well, maybe you could try to get a little bit of sleep. It does seem pretty early." Funny how it had still been nighttime on Meridian when they'd left. Time must move faster on the other side of the veil. She waved to Irma, then walked towards the portal. After one last glance back to make sure Irma wasn't going to die as soon as she left, she stepped through the humming portal again.

[Aldar & Caleb: Enter from Some Alley]
Aldar mumbles a few curses as he places Caleb on the sand, then begins to look in his backpack for a means to stop Caleb's bleeding.

[Enter: the rebels and Guardians again from Some Alley]
*The second that everybody jumped through, Will turned around quickly and lifted the Heart of Kandrakar to close the portal as everybody was dazzled by the sunlight*

"That was a close one ..." Cornelia muttered weakly.
*Cornelia glanced around at everyone's tired looks. All she wanted to do was go home and sleep and forget about all of this.*
If everyday is going to be like today, then I wish I never got these powers. Cornelia thought completely forgetting that her friends could probably hear her.
"Irma are you okay?"

Aldar seems surprised that so many rebels remain alive even though there are at least ten arrows (if not more) in various places of each of their bodies. He notices that someone is missing.
Aldar: "Um... Where's Drake?"

"Hay Lin's got him here" Will said as she dragged him into view. "He sort of jumped in the line of fire."
*Will brought out the Heart of Kandrakar. Hay Lin, Cornelia and Taranee looked very exhausted. She detransformed them and then looked at the rebels. Okay, we should walk a bit to make another portal to bring you guys back*
*She looked back up at the slowly rising sun and almost wanted to cry. That meant no time for sleep...*

Irma had almost fallen asleep when Aldar and Caleb fell through the portal, quickly followed by the rest. Then the portal vanished and the only light that oculd be seen was the sun rising up. "Tired" she managed to say between the yawnings. "What should we do now? We can't go home, our parents will freak." she said and lay down on the sand again.

*Will took a glance at her frog watch*
"We have a little less than an hour until the first class starts," Will said. "We need to hurry. Hey," Will started to ask one of the rebels.
"What is a safe place near the streets of Meridian?"

Rebel: "Uma... The bathroom?" Aldar: "There are no safe places near the streets of Meridian." *finally manages to stop the blood flow* "We have to go to Infinite City."

"Well," Will said as she scratched her head. "It's not like I know where to move in our city to make sure that you hop safely into your headquarters, so I was wondering if you knew any place near here that would allow you to get there easily so that I could send you there?"

Aldar: "What about that?" *points at a nearby cave* "It seems safe enough to me."
