Where the trees are a bit thicker and more clustered. It could get scary at night...

[Enter Sandpit from: Tracker's old swamp lair]
The portal crackled as Sandpit blew out.
"Now then its time to play," cackled the mound of sand as it made its way to its first target.

[Enter: Lord Cedric from his bookshop]
Cedric slowly opened his eyes. What... was it morning already? So he must have slept for... well, eight hours at least. Here, in this alien world, in the middle of a park? Not that he had anything to fear, of course. Still. With all those weird dreams and unusual noises of cars driving by somewhere further away, he didn't feel well rested. But sleep is sleep and it gave him some strength. Brought some blood back into his veins too. Cedric looked at the sun. It was good to start a new day nonetheless. The last one was so full of failures and disappointment, it was hard to believe. It wasn't Cedric's fault. On the contrary, he did the best he could - considering how much everyone else tried to screw it all up for him. Enough complaining. What's done is done, no way to change it. It would be for the best to just forget it. Cedric stood up. Since no one was around and there was no danger to encounter any of the guardians, he changed back into himself. Enough pretending for the time being. The best thing to do now would have been to buy some breakfast for him and Elyon. Neither of them had anything to eat for quite some time now. Cedric was hungry. But also broke.
Well, he'll probably just get back to the bookshop. Then they'll decide what to do together. Cedric had some fun ideas about impersonating teachers and toying with the guardians at school. It probably won't get them closer to achieving their goals, but they had to do something here, in Heatherfield. Why did Elyon want to come back here anyway? At first Cedric was sure that she has a plan. But the way she hesitated to do anything made him doubt that. Was it another of her immature whims? You're being too hard on her. Cedric thought. Or at least you expected too much. "Okay, okay." He calmed himself down. "I'll do my best to be friendlier." Then you should start by getting some food. How? Once again, it was all about money. You can always rob someone on your way. Oh, that's a good idea. As good as it was simple.
[Exit: Lord Cedric Heatherfield Mall Food Court]
