Wonder why. Another did anyone notice how sulky and angry Nigel looked in the his first scene? I also noticed that what Phobos lacks in having black roses all over the places he compensates with an obsession with sand.

Yea, in the beginning of season 1 he threw sand on the floor and he could see thing on Earth or make visions out of it and stuff. Cedric had to pour sand on that crystal ball to talk to him. I think it's sort of stupid though, it's totally pointless. At least in the comics they found a reason for the black roses.

The only time it made sense was in The Mogriffs when Phobos put Elyon to sleep with it. But even that was a little far-fetched(even for WITCH) because he was looking through his little fortune-telling portal but he was able to touch her even though she was merely an image.
