I don't believe Elyon was brainwashed. Sure she was lied to and stuff but she wasn't brainwashed. She did everything she did out of her own free will.

She was too cruel after being too incredibly sweet. It's just unrealistic for a teenager to agree with someone she doesn't know who's always mean to her as opposed to her own friends. I mean, Phobos was too distant, he was hardly a character and he was supposed to be the main villian. But all we ever saw was Cedric.

you guys all have points, but if what you just said is true Ced, then Elyon believed Phobos' lies just as quickly in the show as she did in the comics. She spent the entire first season completely trusting Phobos and Cedric because they shielded her from the truth and she didn't believe her friends until Phobos showed his true colors.
I actually think that the comics are more realistic and have a deeper meaning. It is actually kind of understandable for a teenager who is ranging on hormones to act the way she did and betray her friends, because she did that in both the comics and the show. The only difference is while they made Elyon Miss pure and perfect who was just being mislead and had no account for any of her actions, they made Elyon a real person in the comics who felt true anger and sadness and confusion and guilt.
When a teen finds out that her whole life has been a lie, then of course she'd be angry and go to the first people who have shown her kindness and comfort (in the show and comics) but while the comics showed her a distorted version of the truth (also the fact that she hated her friends because they guarded the Veil which was like a cage to Meridian), the show was nothing but lies from the very beginning. In the comics, Elyon starts to believe her friends and has doubts about Phobos and actually thinks and figured out the horrors of Meridian by herself and with the help of the Guardians. It kind of annoys me how Elyon was led to believe everything in the show without thinking much about whether or not it was true and didn't understand her situation until it was too late.
Those are my thoughts anyway, considering I just finished watching this episode and the rest of Season 1 five minutes ago ^^

that's just what makes sense to me. Both the show and comic Elyon are similar, except one has a will of her own and one's completely clueless

Ok well that's good point.^^;; But then again, think about how much harder Phobos worked. He did disguise everything with flowers and bunnies and stuff and they had Miranda. But you're right, she was sorta letting them take her over. Well I still think Phobos sucked terribly in the comics, he didn't do anything. The only good thing about him is that he has better reasons for taking Elyon's power.

I do agree with you on that He only did something useful in the 4th arc. The only way he almost beat Elyon was throwing a piece of plaster at her and that's why you'll hear me make girly comments about him often. Like with his hair and girly hands Hey! That reminds me of my giant scissors!

Lol...what's so girly about his hands? I thought his heels in the first arc were pretty girly. I mean c'mon, they had crystals on the straps. XD Oh yes his hair needs to be seriously cut. How can any1 stand 5 people carrying his hair everywhere he goes? It's no wonder he stays in the garden, lol.
