Cedric pulled back a thick shawl of vines to reveal what looked like a magical jungle-forest, almost like the pixie-dusted home of a fairy. It almost made Cedric wonder how Phobos could honestly keep himself from destroying this place.
There was a soft, stone path leading to pool of crystal-clear water with a small waterfall pouring into it. The circle was bordered with lime green roots, which attached to more thick vine-ropes. The entire room was enlightened with small flying lights, which resembled fireflies on a summer night.
Cedric stepped onto the stone platform which clamped onto the enchanted jungle's original flooring and turned to Elyon.
"There you are, your highness," he said, holding his hand out to the small pool in a welcoming way.

Where was this going to stop? Elyon already lost count of how many awe-inspiring things she was shown in Meridian. Each new room topping the previous one with ease. It made Elyon feel a bit uncomfortable... "I-It's beautiful!" she said with an admiring sparkle in her eyes. "Are you sure I can even be here?"

"You're beautiful," Cedric muttered low enough for her not to hear.
"You're the Light of Meridian, the soon-to-be queen!" He said with a pitch of astonishment in his voice. "You're worth more than this castle, my dear!"
He continued to hold his hand and with his other hand took hers. He smiled ever wider and gently pulled her to the pool until her foot was at the very border. "Come now, princess."

"I..." Elyon muttered as she stared at the water. The reflection looked a bit awkward. Seeing the dreamy blond prince charming next to a sloppy teenager without friends. Now what was she supposed to do? Ask Cedric to leave, so she could take a bath? But she didn't want Cedric to leave. It would make her feel insecure in this strange new world... "I... uh..." she looked at Cedric nervously, biting her lip for a moment. "I forgot to bring some spare clothing..." She felt silly for even bringing it up. How was this ever going to work out...?

"Understood." There was a bit of laughter in saying this. "I'll get the robes that were saved for you..."
Wait! He couldn't leave Elyon by herself! That's insane! He'd never do that!
"Do you...want to come with me, or...wait here?"

There it was again. The perfectly formal and political correct 'understood'... Elyon looked back at the water. "No. No. I'll wait. Don't worry." She could see in her reflection that her face was getting a bit red...

"Oh...but if you want to take a bath, feel free to." Cedric smiled and turned away, seeing that Elyon was turning red and all.
"Autuvinus!!!" Cedric called without turning around. Vine after vine wrapped around each other, creating a thick branch-like rack. "You can put the clothes you're wearing on that, it'll give them to me and I'll take them down to the Laundry Tower."

"U.. Okay..." Elyon said. This felt a lot like something she wanted to avoid back in Heatherfield. How ould she react then? No clue really...
She quickly looked around. Was there anything she could use as a curtain or something? Not that it would actually be needed. Cedric was way too kind and careful to attempt to peek. It would just... Make her feel more comfortable.
ARGH! Snap out of it! Elyon violently shook her head twice to force herself to act her age and get this over with. Briefly checking if Cedric still had his back turned, she took off her clothing quickly and hung them over the vine-branch-rack.
Carefully, Elyon tried to step into the pool. "Ah!" she called, startled. "Th-This water's warmer than I thought..." she quickly admitted, hoping Cedric wouldn't turn around in an act of protection. Slowly wading further into the pool, she carefully listened if the man in blue was on his way already...

"Oh I forgot something," he said without turning around. "Invelium!" He called yet another spell.
An over sized leaf big enough to cover a full grown adult standing up sheilded Elyon from Cedric completely, than another giant leaf wrapped around on side, then another, and finally there were 7 enormous leaves wrapped around the pool.
"When you're done, all you have to say to make the leaves unwrap is a simple spell: Exposivelium. Remember, to say it in a commanding sort of way so that it knows you want it to unwrap. As you can tell, if I say 'Exposivelium' too lightly it won't do anything."
Finally, after leaving Elyon a sense of direction with magic, he set off to find her a spare dress.

As soon as Cedric left the room, Elyon dropped herself onto the bottom of the pool, sighing loudly. "What did that guy do to me?" she wondered. Every time she was around him, she inevitably started to act silly and stupid eventually, engineered by a large mix of feelings driving her to get nervous. In fact, around Cedric she acted almost the same way as she would've with Matt Olsen. But the blonde boy was even further out of her reach than the guitarist. Everywhere he went, Cedric brought this air of control and perfection with him. Phobos too, but Phobos' control and perfection was from a different kind.
Slowly closing her eyes and taking a more comfortable position, Elyon's mind wandered off. So what's up with Cedric anyway? Lately he acted so formal and careful around her. As if Phobos had pushed an expensive piece of porcelain into his hands, and he was too careful about dropping it. And all this talk about magic and coronations and royal balls. Guardians and oracles and hearts. And what did he say about which lights? It was tough to make sense from all that abracadabra. Alakazoo, alacazam. Sim sallabim. Hephestus patronum? She probably read too much magic-themed books or something.
Auruvenum? Invelius? Recalling all those magic words felt a bit silly, since most of them hardly made any sense. Explosivelium? Oh no, wait! It was Exposivelium! That one spell Cedric talked about only a moment ago. It was a bit strange though... Phobos pulled off all those magic feats without even having to say a single wo--
Quickly Elyon looked up as she noticed a sound resembling a treebranch in the wind. She was startled to discover that the leaves Cedric conjured up retreated back into the ground. "Ah! Wait! Stop! I didn't mean that!" she panicked. She shot up, but halfway through the act, she stopped and returned. The past week and everything in it sure had reduced her to a timid girl... No wonder Cedric acted as if he was holding something fragile... It's because he really was...
Elyon lifted her hand above the water's surface, and stared at it as the familiar liquid slowly dripped off her skin. No one else was in the room, so she was rather positive the leaves retracted by her own doing. But how? She hadn't uttered any magical incantation at all. "Ah! Perhaps...!" she called, remembering what she herself had done the past week, several times already. "How far do these magical things even go?" she wondered aloud. "And how come I never accidentally did anything like this before!?"

[Enter: Cedric from Elyon's Chamber]
Cedric feared he might've not taken long enough to bring back her outfit, as so he went along with his plan of knocking first.
Knock, knock! He knock hard on the stone wall the knuckle of his index finger and said, "Elyon? I brought back your outfit, I'm going to tell the--er--vines to bring them to you," he said ackwardly.
"Duxdono!" He called with his back to her, and the vines gave him her old clothes. After that he placed her new dress onto the vines and said, "Duxduco!"
The vines obeyed and placed themselves above the edge of the pool, like a towel rack. "If you have any questions about thing, please tell me, Elyon. I'll wait in your chamber until you're finished."

Elyon remained silent for a moment. Cedric still had his carefulness up and armed. His distant and unreachable behavior tackled her own certainty every time, causing him to grow more careful all over again. "Okay..." she softly said, quickly looking around for a way to break the vicious cycle.
Right before Phobos' lieutenant wanted to leave, she called him again. "But Cedric..." Another brief silence. "I... ehm... I..."
"Would you mind washing my back for me?" she suddenly asked, turning a bit red. It was just like Halloween, when she had to ask Matt for a date. And similarly, she regretted asking it so outright.

"Hm? Sure." He said it in quite a dull tone, but he was a little afraid of an overeaction if he'd said anything more.
"Dakem!" He called, and vine turned into a wooden stick, then plastic fibers sprouted out which created a backscrubber. Cedric himself finally realized what he was about to do and turned a bit red himself. Nevertheless, he walked behind the princess and was sure not to peek at anything in the front.
Soon he was scrubbing her back, up and down, and with each stroke, he grew more and more nervous...

Elyon closed her eyes and allowed Cedric to do his thing as she formed a smile. Now this was more princess-like! Things could hardly get more majestic from here on: quietly bathing while someone gently scrubs your back... Wha? Wait a sec... "Are you okay, Cedric?" Elyon suddenly asked. "You seem a bit tense and..." she briefly paused for a bit, while she tried looking at him. "...I can feel that..."

Cedric couldn't think of a way to respond to this for a while, so he kept on scrubbing, until finally, "I'm fine as long as you are..."
He crouched down a bit lower to scrub the lower part of her back. He suddenly noticed how Elyon's hay-struck blonde hair moved with the brush whenever he went high enough.
