Cedric gulped. Could he really be serious about fighting with Elyon? He already hated doing it when it wasn't on purpose...
But he sighed and sucked it up. Something, he wasn't sure what, told him he should do this. Something good would come out of it, in the end. A small voice argued that he was on Phobos's side, or at least that's what came out of his mouth...
Do this. You should, a stronger but faraway voice in his head commanded. "Well...I..." he sighed. "Ok. I'll do it. I'll train you."
He didn't look too happy. "We need to find a secluded area, though. If Phobos finds out I allowed this, he'll kill me. And I was thinking, we should do this in the dark, with very little light. It'll keep things secret and it'll benefit the training," he smirked, "if you learn to do something in the dark, it'll be much easier to do in the light."

Elyon smiled. If Phobos finds out about this, it'll be too late. She'd be the experienced magic-user who defeated the guardians. Then, Phobos would have no choice but to acknowledge her skills. She enjoyed the very thought of that moment. "It's a deal!" the princess exclaimed. "I want to start as soon as possible."

"Alright," Cedric nodded, "Let's start tomorrow night..."
He clenched his teeth nervously and hoped she wasn't looking out the window. It was already night.

"Sounds alright." Elyon replied. Tomorrow night... She could hardly wait. It was still so far away. Although once Elyon turned around, it proved to be closer by than expected. The window was already pitch-black. It felt like she woke up only an hour ago. "Wow... Time must be really messed up here..." Elyon thought aloud. Maybe it was her nap in Phobos' throne hall? It didn't take that long, did it?
Then, the young princess remembered. That rebel she entranced yesterday!! "Uhm... Cedric... I think I forgot about something important today..."

He held his tongue for a moment so he wouldn't correct her by saying "tonight" and asked, "What'd you forget, Elyon?"

"I spoke to a rebel last night..." Elyon carefully started. "He would bring his leader with him today..."

Cedric's heart took a light skip. She's planning with the rebels! This would ruin their plans, although, if the rebels managed to "capture" Elyon and take her far from the castle, Cedric wouldn't mind so much...
"And where do you want to meet this rebel?" He didn't want to, but he knew he would have to come up with a way to get rid of the rebel once they met.

"I don't know..." Elyon admitted. "And I don't care... Phobos wanted me to talk to them, and so I did. He can take care of the rest..." For a moment, she smiled. How would Phobos react upon learning she managed to bring him both an obediant servant and the rebel leader?

"Ah, so you've already spoken." He was afraid to provoke any rebel thoughts against Phobos, but he couldn't help but asking, "What...what did they say about...your brother?"

"Nothing I haven't heard before..." Elyon responded. "Not that he had a chance..." She felt a little uncomfortable to reveal this to Cedric just yet, but obviously he had the wrong idea so there was little choice... "I... sorta kinda entranced him with that spell you tought me yesterday..."

Cedric's eyes widened slightly. It was just as he had thought: Elyon was using her powers to find out the truth. Not that he was too surprised; Elyon wasn't a stupid girl, and she was bound to find out something. He just hoped beyond hope she wouldn't have done it so soon.
"You...entraced the rebel?" Another thing caught him. "You learned that fast?"
Elyon was more powerful than he or Phobos ever imagined.

"It seems I did..." Elyon admitted. All the more reason to start raining soon. The sooner she learned, the sooner she could put her powers to good use... "Say, do you have another cool spell for me I can work on?" she asked, quickly trying to change the subject. That rebel shouldn't be Cedric's concern. Once she finds him again, she'd send him straight to Phobos...

"Hmm..." Cedric held his finger to his chin. He actually wasn't sure what Elyon had already learned; she might've found out all kinds of other spells on her own. "Can you...fly?"
Cedric didn't have that ability, but studied all kinds of magic when he was young, even things he knew he couldn't do. Being a noble's son, he was one of the few in Meridian who recieved some form of education. Even Phobos didn't know how to read or write (in the back of his mind, he wondered if Elyon knew that). He never would've guessed reading all those books could lead him to training the Queen herself...

Elyon's eyes opened wide in disbelief. "I can do what!?" She jumped up and down in exitement. Never had she expected that she could one day fly, like in her childhood dreams. With every spell Cedric helped her master, all these magic powers felt more and more a part of her. "Teach me! Teach me!"

Cedric laughed despite himself. She looked so excited, as if she were a little kid again. Or an innocent child on Earth who had no idea she had a brother. "When do you wish to learn?"
