But all Elyon did was stare at her plate. What was there to say? She was afraid that Cedric and Phobos would get upset again. But then again... The silence was discomforting to the least, and she wasn't even sure if she wanted to know what the two men were thinking during this silence...
"Uhm... Phobos..." she carefully started, trying hard to come up with a subject to talk about... "Do you..." subconsciously showing her discomfort, Elyon looked away from her brother while brushing her right braid with her two hands. "Do you remember that time in the garden? Where you tought me how to create a rose from nothing?"

Phobos' head slowly turned, almost creaking it would seem, for its unnatural expression as it stood mounted atop his pillar-robes seemed unwilling to abandon his subject's direction. But it did, rather slowly, and now he looked at Elyon in the eyes while she sat brushing her hands against her little blonde braid.

Elyon nearly flinched at her brother's reaction. Even though all he did was just turn his head her direction, it was so very intimidating! "I was wondering..." she continued, with a much more nervous tone in her voice. "If Cedric could teach me how to use that magic!" She quickly forced a smile, hoping that the prince would ease up on her...

Cedric nearly choked on his piece of bread and immediately swallowed it before he ran out of air.
Me teach her magic?! He thought to himself. That's insane!! I can hardly speak telepathically!!!
He tried his best not to stare at either one of them, afraid of giving them an astonished expression. I'd better not react and just keep eating...

"Magic!" Phobos seemed to have become someone else, his face relaxing and his smile widening. His ears might have perked up as well, but it was impossible to tell with his magnificent hair everywhere.
"Elyon, dear sister, you'll be amazed at what marvels you can conjure, if you only ask to learn!" He turned to Cedric, and in a telepathic projection of thought, made it clear how his disciple might skirt a punishment that was otherwise heading his way as a result of his haughtiness.
Control yourself and be ready- You may be of use yet!
"I am glad you have asked."

Suddenly Cedric had went from a man to an obediant little boy. That was the written message marked across his facial expression. His long, once royal-like hair now seemed all the more strunged, his former crystal-eyes turned into fearful sapphires, and his lips once in a straight line were now curved downward into a sad little frown.
His nod to the prince simply said, "Yes, master," for the possible punishments that could lie ahead of him were unpredictable but certainly regretting.
"Yes, Elyon, I'm so glad you asked." If you listened close enough, you could hear a slight quaver in his voice. With all his strength, he made sure not to upset Elyon. He's done this one too many times, and hasn't realized just how severe Phobos can be when things don't go his way.

Elyon's smile visibly became less forced after her brother's reaction. "Really? Thank you so much!"
She swallowed some more of the delicious food before she added: "I can't wait to begin!" It was evident that she was exited about the matter...

"Neither...can I," he took another bite, nearly choking on this last piece. Elyon's excitement could only spread so far--Cedric's fear dominated the feeling. Only regret filled Cedric, any possible tints of happiness were completely pushed away. So should he hate her now?
For what?
The punishments...the penalties she caused him...as if she almost...restricted his once unlimited privileges. No...his imperfections made that happen. And he mistakes would probably double teaching Elyon magic. He caused her enough pain by doing nothing!!!
"Oh, why..." his melancholic whisper spoke only to himself.
Too many things have changed since her...

Phobos sensed some trouble from his subject's direction, but made sure to keep the ambiance as casual and positive as he could. After all, he did just lose his temper.
A small chuckle from his direction, and then the seting down of the chalice on the table's wooden surface.

Change the subject? Cedric thought for a while. But that's all they kept doing...hopefully the dinner would end soon. There was but one last topic, one that(judging by the excited, tingling feeling Cedric got up his arm) was coming pretty soon. One where(Cedric would have never thought he'd be so happy about it) he'd probably be able to avoid Elyon.
"You know, Elyon, your Princess Ball is coming up soon, aren't you just excited? I am--we all are!" He added in quickly. He could almost feel Phobos grabbing a steak knife and slicing his throat with it.
"We're all so very proud of you! For accepting your home and adjusting to all the changes so very quickly, but most of all," he thought maybe he should sound somewhat personal, just to get her off his back, "I'm proud of you, for being such a brave and noble girl."
He ignored his food to make him look excited enough. Hopefully it was working.

"Oh my gosh!" Elyon replied. "The ball!" She completely forgot about it. Very soon, the ball Phobos had planned for her would be here. What was she to do during such an event? Who would come? Would everyone be pleased to see her? She looked down on her own body for a moment. Certainly she needed something else to wear too. "Phobos!" she called, maybe a little louder than she intended. "The ball..."
Exited wasn't really the word for it. Nervous, perhaps?

Maybe a word of reassurance? He did feel like an idiot after causing a few scenes. "The ball is soon, but it's not right here! You still have enough time to get ready, Elyon! We had all sorts of designers for your dresses and such, Phobos and I have took care everything. You have nothing to worry to about."
He tried putting on a positive smile.

"Nothing at all!" Phobos echoed. "Your commemoration will be quite the event Elyon, and you can trust that all of the preparations will be made in time!"
He smiled.
"Although you will be deciding on your royal dress of course."

"Wow. Thanks!" Elyon said, feeling a slight bit relieved. "You're the best!" She briefly streched her arms and yawned. The day seemed to start streching out into eternity. This morning seemed like ages ago, so to speak. It's all still so confusing. Heart. Guardians. Meridian. Elyon felt tired. She needed her sleep to properly process the events of today. Was it time to sleep soon?

Judging by the yawning and tired look, Cedric could tell Elyon needed some sleep.
"Why don't you take a rest now that you've eaten, Elyon?" Cedric suggested, getting up from his chair. He was prepared to show her the way to her room.
