"It-it looks like some kind of book." Will stated. She glanced back up at Cornelia, who was looking kind of pale and tears were stirring from the corners of her eyes. She really wished that she could do something really great to make her feel better, but if Elyon really had declared herself as an enemy, nothing Will could say would make everything all right again.

*Cornelia simply stood there as if frozen to the ground. It was as if Elyon's words had paralyzed her. She stared silently at the spot where her best friend had just stood.* "How could Elyon say something like that?" Cornelia whispered. *She turned around to face her friends.* "she's not exactly herself. someone really badly tought her to hate us. something with stronger mindpower, maybe"

Elyon slowly walked out of the hallway, back into the 'real' basement. She stared at the ground until she saw Cedric's feet, after which she followed his body all up to his face. Hers showed a regretful expression. "I'm sorry..." she whispered. "I'm so sorry for everything..." She tightly shut her eyes and faced away, uncertain how Cedric would react, since she didn't get what he wanted...

Cedric kept quiet as he watched Elyon's regretful expression. Just from that one look, he could tell what she was thinking.
No, I should be sorry...because I want you to be free. To survive your brother. But even so, I'm not doing anything to stop him...
...So is that it?
You shouldn't do this to your own sister, Phobos.
....Stay out of it, and with that he coldly shut Cedric from his thoughts.
"Elyon...I want you to live...but I'm going to let you die..."
He whispered, letting his trembling voice out in one breath.

"No!!" Elyon cried out, clamping herself to his robe as tears rolled down her cheeks again. Not quite catching on to the hint, Elyon nearly begged for forgiveness. "I didn't know what to do, Cedric! This... Magic is so unpredictable, and I don't know how to control it... I'm so sorry! Forgive me! I promise... I won't let you down again! I promise I'll give it to you..." She tried opening her eyes for a second, but it was difficult to see through the liquid covering her eyes. "The heart..." she whispered. "I promise... But please forgive me..."

*Taranee didn't know what to do. Elyon was no longer Elyon and things were getting more complicated by the minute. Cornelia was in tears, Hay Lin looked saddened as Irma stood close to her. Then Taranee noticed Will staring at the book that had just appeared.*
What is it?

"What? But I--"
!!!!!
"Please, Elyon," he gulped, "the guardians...they'll see you..."
For a few moments, silence. He had heard her, every word of what she said. She claimed she was sorry. And for what?
"Let go of me..."
Not her...no, she isn't the cause of any of it...it's me...
"Elyon, let go of me..."

Elyon obeyed and let go of Cedric's robe. "Take me back..." she said. "Please take me back to Meridian..." She dried her tears once more, and corrected herself. "Back home..."

*Cornelia looked at where Will and Taranee were looking but couldn't see anything. The whole world was blurry because of her tears. After rubbing her eyes numerous times, the whole world became clear again. She glanced at the book sitting on the ground.*
"Let's see what's inside the book." Cornelia replied with some of her confidence back.
Elyon... that couldn't have been you.
*She bent down to pick it up.*

Cedric nodded, slipping Elyon's last tear off her cheek with his finger. "We're going home."
He squeezed her tightly and smiled. Then he took her by the hand.
Finally, after what seemed like hours, Cedric revealed himself. But the guardians looked to be concentrating on some sort of book, so it didn't matter now.
A portal opened before their eyes, and Cedric grinned even more. He knew perfectly well that it was Phobos.
At least he's attentive; he's thinking about us.
Cedric, gripping Elyon's hand tightly, walked through the portal unnoticed, finally leading them home.

Hay Lin remained silent, watching the others with alert dark eyes. She felt sad and confused about what had happened, but was still focused, and the sight of the book had sparked a bit of her interest. Still, she didn't want to add to the tension by speaking, things here seemed awkward enough. She thought she could sense something, something in the air...but she put in the back of her mind for now.

"Too late," Will replied as Cornelia picked it up. "It doesn't seem harmless does it?"
*Will stared at it curiously and then her senses started tingling. Turning around, she noticed that they were facing a portal at the beginning of the hall*
"Whoa! That most definitely wasn't there before."
*The book forgotten at the moment, Will rushed forward*
"We have to close it and then get the heck out of here."

*Cornelia stayed where she was, staring at the book.*
"Should we open it?" Cornelia asked curiously. "Imagine what kind of secrets are hidden in it!"
