*Will understood Taranee's apprehension, but they had to keep going*
"I think Irma's right. It might be now or never. But-HEY! Watch out!"
*There was a large crash as a vase with flowers had shattered onto the ground from next to the door as they started to move forward. Will let out a shakey laugh as she tried to even out her breathing again*
"Heh, I think we need to watch where we're going."+

OOC: lol, that's what we're doing, but we had to alert Cedric and Elyon of our presense didn't we? "Okay, the Portal and the Seal. Here we go..." *The girls slowly descended the creaky steps and into the darkness of the basement*

"Why do I have a bad feeling about this..." Cornelia muttered to herself.
*She crossed her arms and slowly followed the rest of her friends down to the basement.*

[Enter: Cedric and Elyon from Elyon's Room] "Now where are they are?" Cedric muttered as he looked around the room. "I know you're out there somewhere!!!" He called out. He couldn't see anyone. He was still clutching Elyon's hand.
I did heard something, Cedric reminded himself. Someone was down here. Still having Elyon in his grasp, Cedric looked up at the chandeliars hanging on the ceiling, around the walls, and to the stairs again. Nothing.
"Where do you think they are, Elyon?"

Cedric... Whenever he and Elyon are together, he seems so insecure and sensitive... Yet whenever other people are nearing, he becomes so confident and fierce... As if he doesn't want anyone but her to see his soft side... And in that sense, even though he's a Meridian army commander, he's just like any other human boy...
Elyon took her hand back from Cedric and looked around the room, then quietly walked over to a number of flowers on the ground, surrounded by shards. She recognized them... Those shards once made up a vase her parents got from cousin Roger. Now, it was fragmented, as was the lie...
"Shh... Quiet!" Elyon said as she looked up, staring at the open basement door. A faint, orange light came from deep inside it... Calmly closing her eyes, she started concentrating on the sounds. From inside the basement came voices... Familiar voices... Will... Taranee... Cornelia...
Elyon looked back at Cedric, merely stating: "It's them..."

Cedric nodded. "We're going down there," he whispered and pointed to the basement. This time he was sure Elyon was angry. He was satisfied. It's about time...
He saw that Elyon was determined and knew he no longer needed to grab her. So he slipped into the basement, not making a sound. He smile had a tint of triumph in it when he saw Elyon right behind him, her eyes were filled anger.
This is going to be some fight. He bit his tongue to keep from laughing.

[Joel & Maria: Enter from The Front Yard]
They search the lower rooms.
Joel: "Guess they're not here after all." *opens the fridge in the * "That's odd. They left all their food."
Maria: "That is peculiar. Go see if you can find anything upstairs. I'll check the basement."
She leaves.
[Maria: Exit to The Basement]
Joel: "Ok." *takes another look in the fridge* "It'd be a shame if this food went to waste." *grabs a wrapped sub-sandwich from Cousin's Subs* "I'll think I'll save this poor guy from going to waste."
He begins to unwrap the sub as he proceeds upstairs.

[Joel: Enters from the basement]
McTiennan had a pair of HPD's policemen as companions. They walked cautiously on the wooden floor, hoping not to cause any noise. He had his arm steadily raised, his hand open to signal the two behind him to stay quiet. "Darn. I hate it when someone else screws up our investigation..." He mumbled to himself, his eyes looking around the room for anything suspicious.
Soon, he heard a cracking sound, like glass breaking. Joel kept his cool and stopped abruptly, causing the policemen behind to stop as well. Startled, one policeman asked Joel, "Wh-What was that?" "Shh." Joel responded. He looked at his boots and noticed shards of glass on the floor. "We've got company," he said, looking closely at the pieces of broken glass near a broken windowpane. "And they must be here somewhere."

They search the living room, but find no one. Joel picks up the rock with a gloved hand & places it in a plastic bag for evidence.
[Maria & more police: Enter from The Basement]
Maria: "Find anything?"
Joel: "Just this..." *shows her the rock in the bag* "Think whoever threw this is connected to the Brown's disappearance?"
Maria: "I'm not sure but we'll find out soon. We're heading to the lab."
Joel: "Good idea." *looks at the cops* "Patrol the area for anyone suspicious, then meet us at the lab."

Some time later...
[Enter: Elyon from Ye Olde Bookstore's Room in the Back]
Elyon walked in, closing the front door behind her. Cedric was quite the overcautious type, it seems. All day long, she had been walking around town, hed held high and very visible. Yet no one recognized her as a missing person. These 'earthlings' were far too busy navel-gazing... However, Elyon got cautious now as well. The door wasn't locked...
She tried to quietly lock it... -Click- Perfect. The princess quietly stepped away from the door and on her way to the kitchen. She tried to avoid making any sounds at all, while listening carefully for those that didn't belong to her...
Bingo! For Elyon it was easy to hear the smothered and muffled speech from upstairs. That meant she had uninvited company. But that's a worry for later. She opened the fridge and was met with the yellow light from within. "Hmm... Surprising..." she whispered to herself. Elyon hadn't expected that the house was still recieving power. Then again, shutting it down was more than likely well under development, so perhaps she should just be thankful that the fridge's contents hadn't begun to rot. "Great." the princess whispered again. "This should be enough for a week... Well... maybe half a week..." It was better than nothing though...

In just a few moments, Elyon emptied the fridge much like how she emptied her art studio in Phobos' palace. And with that, she was all too ready to confront whoever else was here...
Until her stomach protested again.
The princess sighed for a moment. Priorities, Elyon. she thought to herself. Maybe it's a cop. There's no sense in dealing with detectives as long as the girls are still around... She nodded to herself as she concluded she would need all her strength for dealing with the guardians. Speaking of the guardians... Had they heard the news yet? Were they ready to take the bait? Guess I'll have to find out... After dinner...
She escaped the house by walking through the wall again, like an uncatchable ghost. As she left, Elyon looked back just once, whispering: "I'll come back for the rest later..."
