Cedric awoke and got up and dressed 'her' self and prepared for the new day. Last night he barely had any sleep for he had been pondering a new Idea to deal with the girls.
"How I love to toy with human minds" he said smoothly in front of the mirror

[Enter: Cedric and Elyon from Elyon's Front Yard] "Here we are! So, where are they?" He wasn't sure if he should hold on to her or let her roam around the room. He didn't want to interfere with anything that would make her come back to Meridian.
He saw one drawing on a drawer beside him. "Wow! You're an incredible artist!!!" He couldn't believe what was in front of him! It was a picture of herself on a rainy day in Heatherfield. Every detail was perfect; the drawing almost seemed alive.

The room was filled with pictures of herself and her best friend. Elyon and Cornelia...
Elyon sighed. Everything had changed since those pictures were taken. And it was unlikely that anything would ever return to being like that...
She let go of Cedric's hand, and a freezing chill came over her again as she did. She opened a drawer and inside she found an old pink shoebox. 'Elyon' was written on it. She opened it and took the large ammount of paperwork inside. "I... I must've been like six years old when I drew these..." Elyon noted aloud.
The first drawing was that of three people. A man, a woman and a child. And above each person's head, it read 'daddy' 'mommy' and 'Elyon' respectively. Gone... That happy time was gone... But it wasn't a happy time. It was a lie! A lie!! Angrilly, she discarded the drawing, throwing it over her shoulder behind her. Now she knew the truth...
The second drawing would prove to be a recurring theme. Buildings. Streets. A marketplace. But... Not just any marketplace... These buildings... That farm in the background. The way these steets connect to the market... This was the same marketplace she saw in Meridian a few days ago! Exacly the same...
She sat down on her bed, placing the drawing next to her. Unbelievable... Yet another magical scene was featured on the next drawing. Another city. The streets were roamed by many people. Blue! Blue people! Like the ones that she saw in Meridian! And those watchtowers in the background... Didn't she saw those...?
Disbelief put water in Elyon's eyes. How could she render these scenes at age six, when she had never heard or seen anything having to do with Meridian? The next drawing was once more the city... In the background, the large Meridian palace. All the differently coloured people in the streets seemed happy and cheerful. Above the city, she saw another figure. A winged fairy of sorts, wearing a crown and lighting up the entire city. Elyon could tell that it was her. She had drawn herself... Cedric's words spooked through her mind. "You're my light--Phobos's light!! Meridian's light!! " "Haven't you ever drawn something magical, where you were almost not thinking, but just drawing it?"
A drop of water fell on the drawing, right in the face of the fairy queen, smearing the colours. Elyon laid all drawings down next to her and dried her tears. Did she really need more proof? Did she really have to continue? Could she even continue? "It's true..." she whispered. "It's all true..."

"You see..." Cedric peered over to the drawing she just put down. It was Meridian, with her floating above it. The people looked happy and free. He closed his eyes of the shameful thoughts that went through his head.
The event in that picture, even if Elyon was convinced it was, would never happened. The residents of Meridian were bound to Phobos's evil. They could not escape. They would never smile again. They would forever walk sullenly around the streets to marketplaces asking themselves what was the point in even being alive.
The girl above the picture couldn't save them. She would be dead. Her brother would soon kill her. It seemed so unfair now...to make a young girl go through all of this, thinking she is the light who can save everyone, just so she can get killed by her brother. To make things worse, he was the one forcing her to go to Meridian. But in his case, did he have any other choice?

"Not thinking but just drawing..." Elyon whispered to herself. She stood up with icy calm and grabbed a pensil from her desk. Paper... She needed a sheet of paper...
Ah. There was one! Carefully placing the pensil on it's surface, she slowly and carefully started emptying her head on it. Fireworks. And a giant, burning jack-o-lantern. That's when everything began really. The haloween party... That's where she first met Cedric. He had saved her from the fire, and from that moment on, he continued to protect her...
But she didn't think about it. Elyon merely drew the scene, hoping that with it locked on a sheet of paper, the worries would be locked into it too...

He stared at Elyon draw. She was drawing the scene where he saved her and when the pumpkin exploded. Where they first met.
Ever since then, he wouldn't let her out of his sight. He promised he wouldn't let anything hurt her.
He could see perfectly well she wasn't even thinking when she was drawing. She just let the pencil make all sorts of lines and curves. Even the people were too detailed for her to possibly remember.
So he was right. Her drawings showed that she had known about Meridian before she even knew it existed.

Quickly enough, Elyon finished the drawing completely. Gone... The horror of that moment had vanished. Sealed away in the drawing, leaving Elyon only with the good feelings.
But that wasn't enough. The horror she felt. The desperation that came over her the entire day... It was caused by more than just the incident at the haloween party.
Thus, Elyon took another sheet of paper and started on a next drawing... Rain. Lightning. A stormy night in Heatherfield. She was inside though. Inside the bookstore. Elyon was so startled at that time. She went out her own front door, but instead of getting into the backyard, she immediatly found herself in a spooky old bookstore. It was almost like magic. Something had happened she couldn't believe at that time. Little did she know that things would only get more unbelievable from that point on. And there he was. The one who tried to make her feel comfortable, despite the startling situation. The one who explained everything to her in a dream. The face she drew next was of that person. Cedric...

She's...she's drawing me!!! Cedric observed. That was when I first told her about Meridian and her brother. That was the day an endless line of lies started. I haven't told the truth ever since.... He felt horror crawling up his spine. A striking arrow through his heart, as if it had already stopped breathing. The headache that came along was an uncontrollable pain, but it only lasted for a second. It almost felt as if his insides were squeezing more into his body. And finally shame overpowered his feelings of fear.
What am I doing to this little girl?
He looked at her sympathetically. She thinks that day was when she learned the truth, but she had no idea, not even a clue to the actual truth. He was the one keeping it from her. He knew someone's life was on the line, someone completely innocent, and he wasn't doing anything to stop it!!!
I'm so sorry, Elyon. He closed his guilty eyes, his thoughts being incredibly stong. Then he immediately popped them open.
Did I just talk to her telepathecally?!

"Huh? Did you say something, Cedric?" Elyon asked, looking at him. She hadn't clearly heard his thoughts. Because most of hers were being printed on the paper. "I hope you don't mind me doing this..." she started. "I need to clear out my head. Sort things out. And drawing..." Not thinking but just drawing...
She took a third sheet of paper as she paused for a few second. Placing two random lines on the paper's surface to start the drawing. "... It really helps..."

"What?"
She didn't notice!!! Cedric sighed with relief. "I mean, not at all! Whatever helps you clear your mind, Elyon."
That was close!!!

Bricks. Long rows of bricks. The two random lines Elyon had drawn, were slowly turning into a large wall. On some bricks was some moss not even she had noticed at that time. Above the brick wall was the sky. Eventually, she drew herself. Falling. Falling all the way down. Fear having filled her eyes, but not completely. After all, hope was still there, in the form of that man, Cedric. A man who selflessly jumped after her in order to save her from the fall... A fall. An endless fall.
the fear of the fall got locked away in the paper, leaving Elyon only with a bad memory, and hope. Hope that Cedric would never allow a repetition of that moment. He would make sure her friends wouldn't throw her out the window again. Nor any guardians or fairies for that matter
Cedric... I owe him so much... Elyon thought to herself after looking at the drawing again. He had saved her life several times already. Her life! Without him, she wouldn't be around anymore... But he didn't only save her life. He also saved her from her parents, friends and even herself. And all she did in return was drag him around and not believing him, and sometimes even pushed him away... And now she was forcing him to wait... But wait for what? Wait for her to come with him? Or wait for her to say she won't?
Elyon stopped asking herself, and instead took another sheet of paper...

He watched Elyon draw scene after scene. He was growing slightly bored, but promised himself he would be patient. That's all this mission truly needed: patience.
Patience, Cedric, patience....
The minutes ticked by, not stopping for anyone, letting it's infinite power go further and further from the past. It's hands having a mind of their mind of their own, and it's face telling you what time it was.
That's a nice little device, Cedric thought, looking up. It tells you minute for minute what the time is. Beginning at 12 and ending at 12. That's when the humans believe time starts and ends. But time is infinite. It really has no beginning, and it will never end. It'll go beyond even the most active imagination. It has no patience to stop for anyone; it is ignorant and passes by with no problem. Time is such a thing where people have had to create all kinds of ways just to keep track of it, because it tends to escape. I wonder how it all started, the beginning....
Cedric's thoughts rambled on with time until the next distraction was to come.

"Cedric..." Elyon eventually whispered.
The last few drawings she made... The last few thoughts she put on paper... They were all practically the same. Long, wavy blonde hair, porcelain skin, saphire eyes. She had tried some more variation in her drawings, such as Matt popping up, or an occasional Cornelia. But all that came out was him... Cedric... Cedric... Cedric. And once more, Cedric.
"Cedric..." she whispered again. "H-Have I... Have I ever thanked you?" she asked. "Have I ever thanked you for everything you've done - and are still doing for me?"

"Huh?" Cedric popped out of his muddled thoughts at the sound of her voice. "Oh..."
Have I ever thanked you? What a sweet, serene voice. There was so much innocence and fear. Not Phobos's cruel and sharp voice, but the voice of an angel, asking him if she had ever thanked him. Thanked him for what, though? Lying?
"Oh...I...I believe you did, once," he lied again, trying to form a fake smile for her. He looked deep into her with sad eyes.
Her eyes were giant, torquise gems, just her brother's. She had soft, long bleach blonde hair into two neat, skinny braids. Her bangs were in her face, and a lot of it stuck out of her braids and flipped up into the air, exactly the way Phobos's hair did often times. Her skin was very smooth and a very light color, the same as Phobos. She resembled Phobos. A Phobos who was innocent and confused, but ever so sweet and welcoming. A Phobos Meridian has been waiting forever to see.
She...she's so beautiful, Cedric thought, taking in as much detail as he could. He could never stop staring at Elyon, he would never stop staring into the those kind, delecate eyes...
