"I think we established that already. It was here wearing my face, after all..." Elyon snarked as she fiddled around with the cutterly. Finally she decided to take a slice and eat, with the dough almost instantly turning hard and cold, almost forming a thin layer of ice on the famous Itallian dish. "If this 'Mogriff' thing starts becoming a nuisance later, we'll have no choice but to--" A look of sudden disgust struck Elyon's face as soon as she put the slice of pizza in her mouth. She reluctantly kept chewing and swallowed it. "... It's already gone cold..." the princess explained in a tone so cold and distant that her voice carried small particles of ice.

"Yes of course, this is disgusting," said Cedric, though he actually kind of liked it. He put down the slice and stood up. "Where would you like to go, Miss?" Cedric asked.

Since the one who took Cedric last is now gone, I'm resuming my role as his Sub. I've waited long enough. After several moments of silence, Cedric decides to break the ice. "I'm sorry, my..." He cuts off abruptly. How should he refer to her. My Princess? Does not her return to Earth mean she no longer wishes to bear the title? If so, it may be unwise to risk offending her--especially in her current mood. My love? Truly, he does care about her. She's the only one he's ever had feelings for. If not for the Dark Lord's cruel desire to kill her & steal her magic, he'd even consider courting her properly. Like the way it was done before the Prince came to power. But he doesn't know how she feels about him. As far as he can tell, she sees him as a mentor--nothing more. She'll probably ditch him as soon as he's taught her all the magic he knows. As soon as he's no longer useful. "E-ellie?" The nickname Cornelia gave Elyon just slipped out. Oh, why does she make his heart flutter so? This was not supposed to happen. "If it's cold, you don't have to eat it. I'll gladly buy you another."

Cedric gets up and asks Elyon, "What would you like this time? Pepperoni, or just regular?"
A part of him is afraid: Elyon is becoming bitterly cold. She's changing. Cedric knows that all of the lies and deceit that Elyon has had to experience lately are enough to taint even the purest of hearts, but that doesn't stop him from worrying. He has slowly been falling in love with the girl, and it is the first time he has really "loved" anyone. It's Phobos's coldness that makes Cedric hate him the most. If Elyon grows colder, will he develop the same type of hate for her?
"I'll get you anything you want," he adds. He takes her hand, hoping she won't pull away coldly.

Well, Cedric is certainly doing a very good job talking to himself. Three variations of him, no less. Anyway, since both Cedric and Elyon are available and active at the moment, we definitely should play some. I'm sure it'll invite attention from others and that's what we need right now.
So. Ahem. Not getting a response, Cedric sighed and withdrew his hand. The whole situation was a bit out of hand and he somehow ended up talking to himself. His job right now was to gain Elyon's trust. Complete, unconditional. She had to be willing to die for him - and he had to look like he was ready to do the same. However, all was not well - he could see that in Elyon's cold eyes. What happened to that naive and innocent girl that was so easy to lie to? Cedric thought to himself. "Elyon." He said as calmly as he could. "It's obvious that something's bothering you. And it's not the pizza or the mogriff or whatever. So tell me, please. I know it probably sounds corny as hell..." Cedric looked away, pretending to be embarassed. "But it breaks my heart to see you like this."

"N-no. It's just..." Elyon started. She didn't continue though, as she realised she started talking before knowing what to say... Was something actually bothering her? Cedric just said it was obvious, but then why is it she can't answer his question? And if truly nothing is bothering her, then why isn't she denying it?
Had she already used up all her anger and rage for the day?No. No that wasn't it. She had gathered more anger and hate than she ever did. She had so many people to hate now. So many thoughts of exacting terrible revenge...
"I..." To be perfectly honest, she still had no idea what, if anything, was actually bothering her... "I'm just anxious for tonight... That's all..." Ugh... Cedric would never buy such an unconvincing lie... Quickly. Change the subject! "I don't need a new pizza. I'll just finish this and then we're ready to go."Before she put another slice into her mouth, she quickly added: "You should finish yours before it goes as cold as mine..."

Cedric briefly glanced at his pizza and then pushed it away. He was kind of hungry, but it would have been pretty difficult to sound profound while eating.
Elyon wasn't stupid. She may have been naive at some point, but Phobos did a very good job to change that and now here she was - cold and reserved, even towards him. Cedric had to find a way to worm back into her heart, but he wasn't sure what strategy to take.
He felt a sharp pain in the back of his head. It felt like an omen of things to come.
"My life kind of sucks, you know." Cedric said, not even sure where that would lead him. "It was all about getting people to trust me, to open up to me. To create bonds. And using those bonds, I'd take it all away. Their belongings. Their freedom. Their happiness. Their lives even. It wasn't supposed to bother me too much though - it was all a part of the plan. It was expected of me to be a monster, to treat people like things. Every ruler needs a servant like that - someone without a conscience, without a heart."
It was sometimes a good idea to reveal things about yourself - unpleasant things one would rather keep secret - to gain the person's trust. It was a risky gamble that could easily backfire, but Cedric realized that it would be even riskier if Elyon continued denying him her trust.
"I though I could live with that, but I was wrong. Guilt, something I've been doing my best to outrun, finally caught up with me."
That, of course, was a lie. Cedric closed his eyes and continued with a slightly shaking voice.
"I knew I'd break at some point, unable to bear the mountain of sins that piled up over time. And just when things seemed to be darker than ever before, I got the order to get to know you. That... believe me, that seemed like a second chance to me. Something I didn't deserve."
Then Cedric opened his eyes again and looked at Elyon with a pained expression.
"So please, Elyon... don't shut me out like that. Tell me what's bothering you, please. If there's anything I can do..."
Was Elyon still weak to emotional stuff? She used to be, but many things changed about her in the past few days.

"I'm... I'm not shutting you out..." Elyon insisted as she shot a quick glance through the restaurant. Even though her magic influenced all other costumers and directed their attention away from her, it did so subconsciously. Because of that, Elyon felt unsure wether this was the right place to further discuss topics like the girls, Meridian and Ph... Her... Her brother...
Elyon failed to graps the extent of Cedric's half-truths just now. Maybe it was the restaurant. Maybe it was one of the many other things on her mind. Whatever it was, it prevented Elyon from realising just what misdeeds Cedric just implied he commited. There was just so much going on, she couldn't possibly keep up with it all. Even if she wanted to claim otherwise...
"And don't be silly! You helped me out. You told me about the real me. You--" Elyon suddenly stopped mid-sentence as she quickly rubbed a thin layer of ice from her eyes. "-- You are amazing and you don't have to be ashamed of anything..." She finished. She tried to sound as sincere as she could, but her voice still trembled as if she was standing in a freezer. She really did believe what she said though. The people in Meridian insisted she, Elyon Brown, was the most incredible person they ever met, but Cedric was the one who made her into this supposed incredible person to begin with... Well, admittedly, part of it was also thanks to Pho--... Her brother...
"I'll be alright. I promise. So you stop worrying about me, okay?"

It was enough pressure for now and Cedric decided to slowly withdraw, feeling like he won a small victory. After all, if there ever was a master manipulator, it had to be him.
"Alright. I'm sorry for pushing you." He said, squeezing out a smile. "But you owe me a date for this. I was really looking forward to a romantic dinner."
Cedric said that in a lighthearted voice, as if he was joking, but made sure to still have a serious look in his eyes.
"However, think about what I've said. If possible, I'd like you to leave all the gruesome things to me. The killing especially. The first time a man died by my hand - even though a lowlife who had it coming - I still thought that he at least wasn't born this way. That like others, he must have had an innocent, carefree childhood and I took it all away. Erased it from existence. Tell me... do you think you could live with that?"
Alright, enough with the theatrics. At least for today.
"Actually, don't answer that." Cedric said and leaned back. "Let's just... get this over with."

"Shh! Cedric!" Elyon whispered a little nervously. She glanced around the restaurant once more, this time exeggerating her head and eye movements a little to convey her meaning. Don't talk about stuff like that here... People might hear us...
She put the last piece of her meal in her mouth, somewhat hastilly actually, and soldiered her way through the fact that it had almost frozen over. Honestly, was it her or was it freezing in here? Well, no one else seems to feel cold, so it had to be her... "Come on. Let's finish up and go back to the bookstore. I'll be more comfortable waiting there..." Elyon was getting kind of sick of being in this restaurant. It hadn't been that long, but it felt like she's been here for months...

"Fair enough." Cedric replied and stood up. His pizza remained unfinished, but he couldn't bring himself to shamefully stuff it all down like a child. He had a reputation to consider after all. Also, the painful ticking in his head was likely to get worse if he started chewing or doing any other head exercise.
"At least the impostor paid for our meal." Cedric smiled and added in a playful tone "So... After you, my princess."

"Thank you, my shiny knight." Elyon replied, attempting an equally playful tone. Her trembling voice kind of ruined that attempt though...
