*The rest of the guardians began to move toward the door to leave Elyon's room but Cornelia stayed where she was.*
"Ellie. . ." Cornelia whispered. "How can you not believe us? Why would you think I'd lie to you? Can't you see that Phobos has been lieing to you. Will's right, the people of Meridian, your people, are being treated horribly. Phobos, he's not who you think he is. He isn't some great older brother who's always going to have your back. He's been attacking us, sending out monsters..."
"So who are you gonna believe, your best friend or some guy you just met who claims to be your brother?"
*Cornelia stood there, waiting for Elyon to give her an answer.*

"I..."
Elyon didn't have an answer ready to that one, and turned her head to prevent the girls from seeing her insecurity...
"I... I don't know..." she admitted. "I'm not sure what to believe... But..." She bit her lip for a moment. "But so far, everything Phobos has told me was right! About me being the princess. About these weird magic powers. About hearts-of-whatever. Everything! But you... I'm not sure if I know you anymore... Any of you! Look at yourselves!" Elyon stepped aside to allow Cornelia a clear view of her mirror image. "You're all older... perhaps even prettier... You've all changed...."

*Cornelia stared at herself in the mirror.*
"We may look different Ellie but we're still the same people. We're still your friends and we still care about you. We wouldn't be telling you how bad Phobos is if we didn't care about you."

"Yeah, that's what my 'parents' said too, before Phobos told me who they really were... And who I really am..." Elyon said, as she crossed her arms and looked away. "And they really were liars."

"Well you know I would never lie to you. Now it's up to you to decide who you wanna believe."
"I can't make that decision for you." Cornelia whispered.
*Cornelia turned and walked back to where the rest of the guardians were.*

*Will nodded at Cornelia and reached an arm out to comfort her as she walked back to them as they turned to leave*
"We're sorry then, Elyon. We're really sorry."

As the girls left, and the door to her dormitory closed with a soft thud, Elyon returned to gaze upon herself in the mirror, reflecting upon what just happened, and what she had said... The confrontattion with her firned, and Cornelia in particular, left her with a sour aftertaste. Was that last remark a bit too much?
She quickly convinced herself otherwise. Those monsters, who pretended to be her parents, told her often enough how much they cared about her, but they made up her life nontheless... But now, with Cornelia and the other girls, something felt different...
Walking up to the just-closed door, she pushed it open only slightly, so that she could peek into the hallways without being noticed. Elyon just barely caught a glimpse of the five servants' robes disappearing behind a corner. But suddenly, someone swept the door wide open and entered.
"Sorry for making you wait your highn-- Oh, were you leaving?" It was the tailor, who barged in the room far too late to be of any help. "Oh, ehm... Yeah, actually. If I wait much longer, the ball's gonna start without me..." Elyon nervously replied, covering up her actual intention. "You're absolutely right, your majesty!" Jink agreed. "But before you go, please let me adorn your hair with these accesoires, to go with your dress!" Quickly, the tailor added the final touch to Elyon's regal appearance, a pair of beads, embedded with gemstones, on the ends of both her braids, before allowing his princess to leave and starting to pack his belongings.
And with nothing to stop her from doing so, Elyon entered the palace's hallways to see if she could find Cedric or Phobos somewhere...

Much later that night, after the ball has finished...
[enter: Elyon from the palace's hallways]
Elyon pushed open the door to her dormitory, relieved to be rid of her duties as princess, at least for the day. There was only one thing left to arrange, but she could do that as 'Elyon' just fine.
The girl unbraided her hair in preperation for the night, but delayed her search for a nightgown. She looked at her own appearance in the mirror, waiting fo the sentry to bring her the members of the rebellion...

Hoping to catch the princess undressing, the rebel barges in without knocking.
[Wali: Enter from Halls]
Wali: Crap! I'm a little too early. *gently closes the door behind him* Well, her back is turned to the door. Maybe she didn't hear me enter? If I'm quiet enough, then I'll be able to see the show after-all.
He attempts to sneak to a hiding spot near the bed.

"Has nobody taught you to knock before entering a girl's room?" Elyon asked in a teasing tone. Even though her back was turned, she saw everything happen. She was standing in front of a mirror after all...

Wali: Crap! *face palms* She's looking at one of those mirror thingies. "Nope..."

Elyon briefly smiled, appreciating Wali's honesty. But her face quickly snapped back into a serious expression. This was business after all...
She slowly turned around and faced the rebel directly. "I want to make something very clear..." she stated, knowing that Wali, and the other rebels for that matter, should know the truth... "... I'm only going to negotiate with you rebels because Phobos asked me to... I'm only doing this on his behalf." The princess paused for a moment, ensuring Wali understood correctly...
"It's already getting very late now..." she eventually continued. "... so I want you to come back tomorrow... With your leader..."

Wali: "Are sure it's such a good idea for me to leave?" *starts walking to her* "I heard it was supposed to get pretty cold out tonight." *reaches her & places a hand on her shoulder* "Maybe I should stay here & keep you company?"

"Maybe..." Elyon stated as she looked the rebel. "Maybe not... If you stay... Who's going to inform your leader that I will be expecting him tomorrow?" Elyon's eyes slowly found direct eye contact with Wali's. And as she resisted the temptation to shake his hand off her shoulder and send him away, she knew that the rebel had made a big mistake by staying...
You're mine!

Wali: "There are still 14 rebels eating in the castle ballroom. Once the sentry leads them here," *kisses her on the cheek* "I'm sure one of them would be more than capable to deliver your message."
