A few minutes later, the doors opened wide and Elyon, fully clothed and braided, proudly walked out the room, using her powers to hang the other outfits back in the closet as she did. How she never noticed she could do this, was beyond her. Especially considdering the ease at which she could do it... Although, admittedly, juggling around more than three objects through her telekinesis was demanding quite a bit of effort and coordination...
Entering the hallways, she made a quick pirouette as she headed for the throne hall. It was time to try her magic on the expert!

That evening...
[enter: Elyon from the dining hall]
As soon as she entered her room, Elyon closed the doors an lay down on the bed... How many rooms did she have to grind to dust before Phobos would get the flippin' message? She's no baby anymore! She's a teenager and could handle things just fine with only a little guidance here and there. I mean: even her parents, the people who are supposed to parent her, respected her enough to leave her in Heatherfield by herself for a while... Well, until she evaporated them, off course...

A few minuets later, something managed to catch Elyon's eye... Phobos' flower... The threesome of servants have brought it here, like she asked them to, complete with a new vase... Elyon got up from her bed and aproached the plant carefully. Was it...wilting!? "Urgh! That man can't do anything right!" she shouted, reffering to her brother. "He thinks he's so high and mighty, but meanwhile he can't even take care of his own flora." She rolled her eyes for a moment. She considdered just letting the plant die, then return it to her brother like she said she would, but decided against it. The flower was way to pretty to be wasted on such a thing.
[Enter: Cedric from the dining hall]
Cedric came in, dropping the common courtessy of knocking the door first. "I knew I'd find you here, Elyon." he said. "Come! There are some abilities I want to teach you!" The princess didn't bother to look up... "Just a minute. I'll be right there." She really wanted to learn more magic tricks, but for some reason, she had a feeling a Phobos-centric conversation came pre-packed with the bundle... "I will wait for you outside, where we trained yesterday." Cedric's voice sounded, followed by his leaving footsteps...
[Exit: Cedric to The Clearing]
Elyon sighed for a moment... Cedric definately was the best thing about Meridian, and probably even the only reason why she put up with Phobos' belittling remarks so long. She just wished he wouldn't talk about the prince so often... She got up and was about to leave, as she remembered the potted plant... It still appeared to be in poor shape... So she gently touched one of it's leaves and infused the plant with a sparkle of energy. "That should make you feel better." she commented with a faint smile, before leaving for real... Unbeknownst to her, Elyon just gave the rebellion's leader the energy to return to normal...

[Enter: Lord Cedric, from his short emo trip to his room]
Cedric approached the door to Elyon's chamber trying to make a nice expression and was about to knock, but stopped with his hand raised. Standing still for a while and listening, he quickly understood that there is no one inside.
"d**n" he whispered and then looked around - to see one of the guards walking around, as if he would have no assignment. "Hey, you!" Cedric shouted, allowing himself to be rude - since Elyon wasn't around.
"Yes, Lord Cedric?" the guard answered quickly. "Where is the princess?" Cedric asked "Do you know?" "Well, sir," the guard "It's not like I was told this, but the princess is headed for the clearing in the forest." I should have known... Cedric then turned around, following Elyon's footsteps.
[Exit: Lord Cedric, to the Clearing].

Darkness... an eternal silence, surrounding you from all sides, sinking into you, blinding your eyes, deafening your ears, dulling all your senses. You can almost feel how it's sliding in through your mouth. It's not painful. It's not something you can be afraid of. It's not like you are completely blind - you can actually see darkness. You're not deaf either - you can hear the silence itself. And while you can't feel pain, pleasure, fear or concern, you feel a lot of other things - you just cannot find names for them. You don't want to stay here, and you don't want to escape. In fact, you don't want anything at all. You just feel like sleeping - no motivation to do anything else. No ideal, no bright light. No light at all. Caleb knew this feeling well - he was on the verge of death more than dozens of times. Every time, when it was too late to fear death, this feeling of darkness was there for him - replacing everything - the bitter sense of defeat, fear and agony. Instead of writhing around like a worm, Caleb would calm down and listen to the silence. But it used to be different before. He used to also feel a need to stand up and live, to fight on through pain and despair. It was like a small light in all that eternal darkness, guiding him, showing him the way. The light was very painful, but it was life. And Caleb wanted to live. Not now. This time, more than ever, he wanted to stay here, forever dreaming, forever calling out to the silence, embracing it, breathing it. He didn't want anyone to interrupt him again. He wanted to forget everything. The rebels, the soldiers, Phobos, the people dying in the streets, the stench of rotten flesh - none of it made any sense here, in the darkness. It was like a lie he believed in until coming here. All the names... Phobos... Aldarn... Blunk... Cedric... Cornelia... Against the will of darkness, a part of him wake up and the light tore through the nothingness. It was more painful than ever - Caleb felt like being shattered, ripped appart. A part of him screamed "No!" and tried to run away, escape deeper into the darkness and remain there forever. But the light grew. And along with it everything came back. Slowly, at first. He remembered something. Flowers, laugher, his fellow rebels smiling after a successful raid on Phobos's castle. And also the sweet voice... No the darkness whispered. You belong here, you found all the answers here. You can't leave the darkness. You are darkness. You believe in darkness and you live the darkness. But Caleb already turned around, to face the light. He didn't want to stay here anymore. He wanted to live and to live forever.
And then he opened his eyes. Caleb raised his head. It was warm. He looked around, to find himself in some room - some beautiful room, without a doubt belonging to someone of noble blood. The only question was - what was he doing here? Caleb stood up, shaking his head. The memories... They were storming him, one after another. He couldn't understand anything. A memory of a battle... followed by a memory of quiet days of a whisperer... followed by a memory of pain and suffering... followed by a memory of... .. . .love?.. Caleb shook his head again. There was no time for that now - unless he wanted someone to discover him. It was obviously a room in Phobos's castle and Caleb didn't want anyone to find him here, defenseless. He tried to find a weapon, but there were none around. He had no choice but to grab one of the chairs. "So... this...isn't...a...warrior's...room..."Caleb said, just to check if he could still speak. Nevertheless, he had to get out of here. It was a good thing he still had some clothes on. So Caleb simply left the room - just to find a guard standing outside. "What in the world?" the soldier said in complete shock. "A...a rebel!" "Is a rebel... such a rare sight nowdays?" Caleb asked. "No, but... we're having peace! What are you doing in the castle?" "Terminating it." Caleb replied, smashing the soldier's head with the chair. After the soldier fell, Caleb picked up his weapon. He stopped to listen for a moment - someone obviously got alerted. Caleb didn't want to start a fight in the middle of the castle, so he ran.

Only a little later...
[Enter: Elyon and Cedric from the Courtyard]
Elyon allowed Phobos' right-hand man to guide her to her dormitory. However, as they left the courtyard, something stated bothering Elyon a bit... One of the soldiers revealed the militia was in uproar due to the appearance and escape of the rebel leader... But hadn't she tricked another rebel into delivering the leader to Phobos before? This was every colour of odd...
But she remained quiet. Cedric got bothered enough with news like this every day. Besides, Phobos never acknowledged that he actually recieved the rebel leader's body... That Wali was a sly weasel... And with all that going through her mind, Cedric brought Elyon to the large door that marked her room...

"Well, here we are." Cedric stated, as if it wasn't obvious. "I guess I'll be going now."
He took three steps and added "You should get some sleep, princess." He took three more and said "If anything happens, I'll be in my room." Then, after three more "So don't hesitate to call me." After the twelfth step, Cedric smiled said and finished "Well, see you." And then he reluctantly disappeared into the shadows.

Elyon smiled as Cedric left... Vathek was a fool. Anyone with eyes could see Cedric meant well... But not only that. He was also right. She should get some sleep. So she slowly pushed open the door to enter her room...
What followed was a moment of silence...
"Who the heck are you!?" she then demanded, staring Phobos' messenger in the eye. She really didn't feel like having to deal with this guy too. "Get out of my room!!"

The soldier jumped up, and then fell on the ground and lowered his head.
"My princess." he said. "I was sent here by the prince, he... well, he... eh..."
Seriously, what was the reason?
"Oh yeah!" The soldier remembered. "The prince said he's on his way!"

"That's nice." Elyon sarcastically replied. With her thumb, she casually pointed to the door. "Now get out of here. And tell him to knock first!" she added impatiently.

"Yes, princess." the soldier stood up and rushed to the door. "I meant no disrespect, it was an order. Please forgive me."
Saying those pathetic words, the soldier disappeared, leaving Elyon all alone.

"Finally..." Elyon sighed... Finally she was here by herself again... Even in the clearing, when Cedric left for an errand, she wasn't by herself for long... Finally, she had the time to reflect on everything that happened just now... She noticed it before and now she noticed it again. The stressfull time she spent here in Meridian left her patience very thin and her temper easilly angered... She wasn't sure if it was because she had to deal with the likes of Vathek and Phobos, because of the rebels and guardians or because she stayed up all night...
She let herself fall onto the large bed, not bothering to crawl under the sheets or even undress. An hour... That's what she said... She'd only rest for an hour... It wasn't overly long. Just sixty minutes... And who knows how long Meridian hours last... Time here certainly seemed different than that in Heatherfield...
Elyon just lay there for a moment. Letting all thoughts pass her mind before even attempting to sleep... Phobos... Please be late...

[Enter: Lord Cedric from the Courtyard]
No one was guarding Elyon's room. The soldier that was supposed to be here abandoned the post to join everyone in the courtyard. Cedric expected no less - he knew that most of the soldiers are idiots. And since they all looked so much alike, it was impossible to trace which one is to be punished. "Why am I even thinking about this?" Cedric whispered weakly. Now that no one could see him, he finally gave into the pain. His clothes were all sticky and pain was about to overpower him. But Cedric still had duties that kept him from passing out. He opened the chamber door, went in and stopped. There she was - sleeping with all clothes on. Elyon seemed so tired and so unhappy that Cedric even forgot his own pain for a second. Even if he's weak, bleeding and dead tired, at least he'll live - and Elyon's life was already forfeit. He didn't like this truth, but not enough to try to change it. Phobos was more important. And because of that, Cedric had to do his best. He took one step towards Elyon and collapsed to the ground. "That's strange," he said. "Was the wound really that deep?" But that couldn't stop him. Slowly, Cedric started crawling, leaving a long trail of blood behind. The sight probably was funny - he could only imagine what would happen if Elyon would open her eyes now - and see him crawling like this. Despite the pain, he chuckled. And kept crawling. After a minute, that seemed more like a year, Cedric finally reached the bed and slowly stood up. "Elyon..." he touched the princess' shoulder. "Wake... up."

"It's not been an hour already, has it?" Elyon mumbled something in a half-awake voice. With her eyes still closed, she tried to climb into an upright position and rub the sleep from her eyes. "Seriously... There's no way that was an h--" As she opened her eyes and looked at the floor, her voice silenced itself... What in the world...? Some sort of... weird red stuff... It took a moment for her to realise that the floor of her room was covered in blood... And the moment it sunk in, Elyon's skin turned pale and she froze in place...
