"Cedric!" Elyon cried out, a little louder than she intended to... "I'm so glad you're okay!" She wrapped her arms around him as if she never got hit by corruption at all. Only a momentary outburst of course... But not one that could be stopped by the need to maintain proper decorium. Yes. Everything's gonna be okay now that Cedric was back...

"Yeah, pretty much." Cedric smiled weakly. "And it's all thanks to you, Elyon." It wasn't exactly true - surely, his wounds have healed, but it wasn't like all that blood just came back and started flowing in his veins again. Cedric was still weak, but at least he wasn't battling death anymore. He raised his arms to embrace Elyon, but then his eyes met with Vathek's. And even if the warrior turned away quickly, Cedric remembered. "Elyon." He said carefully. "What about Phobos?"

"He's..." To be honest, Elyon wasn't sure what to say. Her brother really pulled a fast one just now... "... Well he's... " She let go of Cedric and smiled at him. "Wait. Why are you asking me? Let's go and ask him!"
She tried to help the man up and stand, allowing him to lean on her. She may be a shade of blonde but she wasn't dense. She could see how Cedric was still recovering. "Here. Let me help you."

Let's go and ask him. That means Phobos was alive. But Elyon didn't seem tired. Not at all. That means.... That could only mean one thing. Phobos didn't die. Maybe he miraculously survived, or maybe he had a plan from the very beginning. And to think that Cedric went through all this just because the prince didn't bother to share his plans. Well, that's the way Phobos was. Now back to the matter at hand.
"Please, don't trouble yourself." Cedric gently refused. "I'm sure Vathek here can help out a... friend of his. Is that right?" "Sure." Vathek replied nervously and stepped closer. "The question is" Cedric continued. "If he wants to help me. Maybe he's... unhappy about the way things turned out to be?" Vathek glanced at Cedric and lowered his head. "Maybe he wanted me dead?" Still no answer. "Get out of my sight." Cedric ordered angrily. "And make sure not to appear before me again."
Vathek looked at him with disbelief, but since Cedric didn't show any other emotions but anger, the blue giant slowly turned around and left.
[Exit: Vathek to the Throne Room]
"My word, Elyon, if Phobos wouldn't be so soft on him, I'd get rid of him right now." Cedric sighed. "But it seems your brother really wishes to sit in that throne of his... I-I mean, soon it'll be yours. Well, nevermind. Let's just go."

"I know what you mean." Elyon agreed, glaring at the galhot while he left. Really, after she told him what Vathek was responsible for, Phobos would probably throw the blue man in jail if he was lucky...
Suddenly, Elyon saw some kind of shadowy figure moving along the walls of her room and how it vanished into the halls. It was quick and barely noticable... What the heck was that?
"Come on, Cedric. I got you." she repeated, thinking nothing major of the shadowy figure. "Let's go see where that brother of mine went off to."

"Right." Cedric replied. He didn't notice anything. "I hope he has a good explanation, 'cause I can't understand anything anymore."

Just a bit later...
[Enter: Elyon from the Strategy room]
Elyon angrilly stomped in. She already told her brother plenty of times how she disliked his behaviour... But this time would be the last, wether it be one way or another...
She slammed the door shut and immediatly ripped her dress off her body. If Phobos can't appreciate her pressence, then she'll just do him a favour and leave. And with a veil between them, it would ensure they would never bother each other again... Was she overreacting? Probably. But she didn't care...
She opened her closet and sought out the clothes she first came here with. The black outfit she reserved for her date with Matt. She only got more angry thinking about that day, but these were the only clothes that Phobos hadn't comissioned for her. So she put them on anyway.
Elyon looked around the room a bit more... Was there anything else she wanted to take with her? Regardless of her desire to abandon Phobos, she still craved revenge. Best not to leave unprepared. So she tried to gather everything she wanted to take with her while she was still here.
Somewhere deep down inside, however, she actually hoped that Phobos or Cedric would barge in, right here, right now, and beg for her to stay. But considering everything... Why would they even bother?

[Enter: Lord Cedric from the Strategy Room]
Cedric stopped before knocking. He really didn't want to do this - listening to complaints and trying to comfort people wasn't really his thing. Everybody has problems. Phobos had problems. Cedric had plenty of them too. A risk to collapse any moment due to a blood loss was one of them. The difference was that he didn't feel like whining about them to others. But hey, people are different. Cedric breathed in and knocked. "It's me, princess." He said. "May I come in?"

"Go ahead." Elyon replied from behind the door. "I left the door unlocked."

"Okay." Cedric said. He opened the door and entered the room. Elyon was wearing her old clothes. It looked very strange, unfitting in a place like Meridian. Cedric didn't like it a bit. "I see you changed your clothes, Elyon." He said. "Why would you do that? Is there... a problem?"
Cedric knew there was a problem. But he wanted to provoke Elyon. He knew that this way, eventually, she'd calm down and be back to normal. He'll calm her down and everything will be alright. Simple as that.

"You know what's wrong, Cedric..." Elyon said, slightly irritated. "You were there. You heard everything."
She sighed, then continued looking for stuff to take with her again as she ontinued. "Like I said: I'm going to do his highness, the so-called prince, a big favour and leave his precious kingdom!"

"You mean your kingdom, right?" Cedric smiled nastily behind Elyon's back. "With all those people, calling you the light of Meridian. This isn't about your brother. It's about you and the people - and for the right thing to happen."
Cedric then walked to the door, opened it and said "But I'm not here to change your mind. I'm not here to talk some sense into you, I just want you to understand. And I don't want you to act like our friendship means nothing - and you can just leave it behind."

Elyon froze in place when Cedric said that last line. He was right. She can't just leave like that. This was her true life. Not just some big lie made up by a twosome of traitors... "But what else should I do?" she asked, not turning around to face Cedric. "You heard Phobos. He hates everything I say or do. And that 'light of Meridian' stuff... That's just some false hope the rebels keep clinging to. And even they hate me!" Elyon swallowed her next sentence before she could utter it... She didn't want Cedric to think she's been spying on him by mentioning last night's incident... "After how Phobos just acted... I don't think there's anything worth staying here for..." She finally turned around, allowing Cedric to see how she tried to keep back the tears that were starting to fill her eyes... "Except for you..."

"Oh, Elyon." Cedric said. "I see now."
Cedric wanted to prove her wrong, to show Elyon how much everyone needs her. But after remembering the reasons why, he decided to try a different approach.
"You probably feel lonely here too, right?" He said, looking down. "I understand what you mean. Everyone in the castle is so self-centered, they treat others like objects, not like people with feelings. It was hard for me to start liking this place too - a long time ago."
Cedric approached Elyon and put his hands on her shoulders. "Here's what we're gonna do" He whispered, looking into her eyes. "We're gonna go to Heatherfield - right now, without asking for permission. If Phobos is too busy to care about you, then why should we care what he says? Let's just do as we please - maybe that'll teach him something."
